Summary: I loved this book!
Review: It did not make me cry like The Notebook, and it I could not relate to it as well as Message in a Bottle, but this is a truly wonderful story about growing up, falling in love, and learning about yourself and others. It also shows that love strong enough, can endure anything, even time. I respect the work of this author, so it would have been very hard for me NOT to love this book. Still, it is worth reading even if you are not a Sparks fan.

Summary: The kind of love everyone hopes for
Review: I made the mistake of picking up this book on a day when I had a lot to do. Needless to say, my chores did not get finished. I couldn't put it down! I finished the book in one day. The kind of love that Jaime and Landon find is something that we all hope for. Nicholas Sparks is a wonderful writer and storyteller!

Summary: Absolutely Amazing!
Review: I don't read books like this often. I am more of a Stephen King or James Patterson type of reader. I try once and awhile to stray from my normal paths of reading into things more sentimental. This was one of those times when I said let's read a sad book. This was one of the better books I have ever read. Landon Carter is a well developed and funny character. I like Sparks twists of humor and sadness all on one page. He makes you love the characters and actually makes you wish the book could go on and on. So I heavily recommend reading this book. I also think that every teenager should read this. It really makes you think.

Summary: This is the best book Nicholas Sparks has written to date!
Review: I read this book in two hours. I live in North Carolina and know Beaufort well enough to see some of the sights in my head. This book is a keeper. I will be reading it again.

Summary: Better than "The Notebook"!
Review: I have read all of Nicholas Sparks' books, and I have to say that this one is the best one of them all. Yes, it is even better than "The Notebook". Although the begnning was somewhat slow, the story picked up, and before I knew it, I was totaly engrossed in the love story of Landon and Jamie. And being the sentimental person that I am, the end of the book left me in tears. Sparks has improved so much as both a writer and a story teller. I am looking forward to his next book.

Summary: So sweet it makes your teeth hurt
Review: This totally unrealistic coming of age love story was trite, poorly writen and lacking in character development. The plot was predictable. Within the first 30 pages, I had figured out the fate of all the major characters, and was absolutely on target. This is NOT a book for anyone who enjoys beautiful language, character development, in-depth psychology, or an intriging plot as all these elements are missing.

It might be a suitable and safe book for a 12 - 14 year old - particularly a romantically inclined but unsophisticated young girl. Not worth the time for a mature reader.

Summary: First Love from a man's prospective
Review: I don't believe that I had ever read a love story until I read "The Notebook". While Nicholas Sparks writes to all audiences, I especially like the male prospective that drove both "The Notebook" and now "A Walk to Remember". For everyone that had a special first love (as I remember some 28 years after High School), this book brings back a flood of memories both sad and beautiful. For those who thought this book is for teenagers, I am sorry that they don't have special memories of their youth. While some reviewers were disappointed with the literary value of the book, I encourage all readers to take the story for what it is, a heartfelt story of firt love and of becoming an adult. I couldn't put the book down and look forward to the next Nicholas Sparks novel. Thank you Mr. Sparks for reawakening my heart.
