Review: Yes, I am a hopeless romantic, and yes, I take great comfort in believing in the power of true love in the world, so if this makes me a sap, then I'm proud of it! I have now read all three of Mr. Sparks' books and have enjoyed them immensely. Will they be considered great literature? Probably not. But they are completely believable and engaging, and appropriate for all readers. They have a wonderful way of transporting you right into the story. You are hooked right from the get go. Yes, they're easy and quick to read, and somewhat predictable, but so what? I've found great life lessons on billboards and posters and calendars so I've never been prejudiced into feeling that only Shakespeare and Thoreau and Milton provide great and worthy messages. I know that many will dismiss Mr. Sparks' books as fluff, but I think that any writing that moves so many people in such a positive way is indeed "great literature." Buy this book, and enjoy! (And buy The Notebook and Message in a Bottle also if you haven't read them yet! I also recommend Richard Paul Evans.)

Review: I'd never read anything by Sparks before, and must say I'm not terribly impressed. The plot was extremely predictable, the characters unrealistic and pigeonholed, and the writing style lazy. On a positive note: the cover was pretty.

Review: This is the best book that I have ever read! It is beautiful and sweet and it just touches your heart and makes you cry! It is so easy to relate to the characters and it makes you believe that the world actually is a great place. Jamie really does make you feel great. Nicholas has written an absolute classic in my mind here and this book deserves more recognition than it has received.

Review: ""A Walk To Remember"" by Nicholas Sparks is one of the most compassionate novels I have read in a long time. I thought his other novel ""The Notebook"" was heartwarming, but this one made me cry -- not only because it had sadness in it, but because in this day and age it is so wonderful to read (even if only fiction) that there really could be people like this in the world today. I don't know how Mr. Sparks does it, but I can't wait for his next book.

Review: I cannot believe so many people out there are sappy enough to give this book five stars! I read The Notebook, which was very predictable but sort of enjoyable. Then I read Message in a Bottle, which was not quite so predictable but seemed very contrived. Then I read A Walk to Remember. I have been writing fiction, mostly for my own enjoyment, for most of my life but have never been published. If I had known this was all it takes to get published, let alone write a bestseller, I would be rolling in money by now. A Walk to Remember is the most revolting attempt at fiction I have ever read. An eight-year-old could have written something more entertaining. Mr. Sparks must be writing either for children or dullards. To say the ending was entirely predictable is an understatement of the largest magnitude. No more Sparks books for me (and I'll bet he's laughing all the way to the bank!). By the way, I think Amazon should offer a rating of 0 stars, because one star is too good for this one.

Review: I just recently finished reading this book. I thought that it was a little different than Sparks' others but different in a good way. The main character is young in this story and Sparks does a wonderful job transforming his adult-like vocabulary to a teenage voice. I would recommend this book for all of those who love a little cry every now and again.

Review: This is a book I will keep and read again. It was good to see love from the male's point of view! If you want to read a book that goes straight to your heart, read Stolen Moments by Barbara Jeanne Fisher. . .It is a beautiful story of unrequited love. . .for certain the love story of the nineties. I intended to give the book a quick read, but I got so caught up in the story that I couldn't put the book down. From the very beginning, I was fully caught up in the heart-wrenching account of Julie Hunter's battle with lupus and her growing love for Don Lipton. This love, in the face of Julie's impending death, makes for a story that covers the range of human emotions. The touches of humor are great, too, they add some nice contrast and lighten things a bit when emotions are running high. I've never read a book more deserving of being published. It has rare depth. Julie's story will remind your readers that life and love are precious and not to be taken for granted. It has had an impact on me, and for that I'm grateful. Stolen Moments is written with so much sensitivity that it made me want to cry. It is a spellbinder. What terrific writing. Barbara does have an exceptional gift! This book was edited by Lupus specialist Dr. Matt Morrow too, and has the latest information on that disease. ..A perfect gift for someone who started college late in life, fell in love too late in life, is living with any illness, or trying to understand a loved one who is. . .A gift to be cherished forever.
