Summary: Please help me settle the debate...
Review: I read this book back in October and I didn't know anyone else who had read it. I assumed that there was a positive ending... at least for a few more years (those who have read the story will know what I mean!). Then, a coworker read the story and had a completely different view of the ending. Now we are debating back and forth and are looking for others to help us. From reading the other reviews, it looks like many others agree with me. Anyone who cares to share their opinion, please feel free to e-mail me! No matter what others say about the ending, however, I still feel this is one of the greatest books I have ever read.

Summary: A wonderful story!
Review: I loved this one. I sayt down and read it cover to cover in a little over two hours and was surprised at how much emotion I had during the reading. The story will keep you interested and wanting more... By far the best of the three.

Summary: A must read
Review: WONDERFUL. After you read this book, you will never be the same. I highly recommend it.

Summary: Too-easy read
Review: I enjoyed Nicholas Sparks' first book - I found it romantic with an unpredictable outcome. Unfortunately, he has discovered a new formula, which disallows genuine emotion from the reader since the plot is so pedestrian. This read like a plot from a radio series in the 40's. It was vaguely entertaining on an elemental level, but not at all thought-provoking. I'm surprised the plot stayed with me long enough to write this review.

Summary: It moved me...
Review: A Walk to Remember has a message that is impossible to miss. It has a sweet simplicity that is lacking in other books. I am a high school teacher, and the way the main characters are written identifies completely with teenagers then and now. It was a novel that teenagers should read to see that if they succumb to peer pressure, they can miss life's sweetest moments. Landon followed his heart and his conscience, and consequently, found love, life's true meaning, and shaped the man he was to become. He learned his lesson in life young. Kids today think they are invincible and have all the time in the world. This book showed that time is of the essence and they should seize each day and savor every moment of it. I truly loved this book. It moved me.

Summary: An Escape
Review: This book is an escape into that past with a roller coaster of emotions that doens't allow you to stop the ride. In a world less complicated and pure, compared to today, this book makes you think about what is truly important in life. Not all of the money in the world, not the popularity, but love unselfish and unconditional. If you want to escape from the grind, then this is the book to read, but beware, you will cry. And if you have that special someone in your life that you haven't figured out how to express you feelings, buy them this book and they will know exactly what they mean to you.

Summary: Too boring to bother with.
Review: Fortunately, compared to others who rated this book likewise, I didn't spend a cent for my copy, and I'm glad I didn't waste my money. It came free with a book club offer. The plot is simplistic and predictable, the characters, even for the fifties (my generation), are unbelievable and the writing style is that of an eighth grader. Although a Christian and one who appreciates a well written work of wholesome literature, I did not shed a tear as a result of reading this title. I sincerely doubt Mr. Sparks would get a passing grade in a college level composition course if he turned in this kind of work. As far as I'm concerned, this book is a real "sleeper." I am astounded at the number of people who give it a five-star rating. For my money, I'll stick to Jane Austen, the Brontes, Charles Dickens and others of the classics genre -- authors who've stood the test of time and have given their readers something to sink their literary teeth into.

Summary: A Walk to Remember
Review: This was the best book I think I have ever read. I read Mr. Sparks' other two books but this was by far the best. The simple, honest story was great. I don't want to say anything about the characters or the story because it will give the ending away. This is a book that should be pulled off the shelf and read with no other information. I feel it is a must read for all high school students. In fact I gave it to my 11 year old daughter to start on. It has so many good lessons to learn. It just makes my heart feel good to just think about it.

Summary: MEMORIES
Review: THIS WAS THE FIRST BOOK OF THIS AUTHORS I HAVE READ. IT WAS RECOMMENDED TO ME AFTER MY 16 YEAR OLD SONS GIRLFRIEND DIE OF LEUKEMIA THIS YEAR. I WAS SO PLEASED WITH THE WAY THE AUTHOR HANDLED IT AS A LOVE STORY AND NOT A STORY ABOUT DEATH. NEEDLESS TO SAY I SHED MANY TEARS WHILE READING THE BOOK. I HAVE PUT IT AWAY TO KEEP FOR MY SON AND HOPE WHEN HIS PAIN IS NOT SO NEW HE WILL READ IT. OUR "JAMIE" DIED 4 WEEKS INTO CHEMO AFTER RELAPSING. THIS BOOK LET ME SEE WHAT OUR LIVES WOULD HAVE BEEN HAD SHE LINGERED FOR A LENGTHY TIME. IT ALSO LET ME INVISION WHAT OUR WEDDING MAY HAVE BEEN LIKE HAD SHE HAVE LIVED LONGER. THE EMOTIONS THIS AUTHOR HAD HIS CHARACTERS EXEMPLIFY WERE VERY ACCURATE BASED ON OUR LIVES THE LAST YEAR. I WILL DEFINITELY READ HIS OTHER BOOKS

Summary: A Book To Remember
Review: It's true what the prologue says..first you will laugh then you will cry. I read this book in five hours, I couldn't put it down, by the time I got to the last page I couldn't read it because my vision was blurred with all my tears. This is a book you will never forget.
