Summary: Steady Love, at a slow pace.
Review: This was a wonderful story about how some people can change our lives. I for one know the importance of intense yet, odd relationships such as the one that Landon and the preachers daughter had. The popular guy afraid for losing his "position" in the school. And the quiet and shy preachers daughter who is so sweet and off limits to any and everyone. Read this story! It is wonderful that is all I have to say.

Summary: A LET DOWN AFTER "THE NOTEBOOK"
Review: After reading (and enjoying) "The Notebook", and listening to "Message in A Bottle" on tape (seeing the movie which was, as usual, not nearly as good as the book), I had big expectations for this book. I was let down. It wasn't a waste of time to read. I think the charachters were developed well. Maybe, the emotions and actions of some are from an earlier age (1940s or 50s) or from a different place (NOT Manhattan), but I would like to think there are still real people who feel and act the way the charachters in "A Walk To Remember" did.

I guess my biggest dissapointment was this is an old story line and unlike "The Notebook" - Sparks didn't really approach it in any different way that hasn't been seen before. Having just come from "Autum in New York" - I can use that movie as an example. Same set up with characters, i.e. boy and girl who seem most incompatible - a big age difference in "Autum" as opposed to the religious thing in "Walk", fall in "love" then face death of the girl. But in the end the male characters do the same thing, which is very predictable - fairy tale-ish. What if the girl had gotten better after the marrige and not died? I would have liked a different approach, somewhere in the story.

Thank you for evaluating my review!

Summary: A tearful, but joyful experience !
Review: In the prologue, Nicholas Sparks says first you will smile and then you will cry. It happened to me just that way. I laughed and smirked during the first half and I cried buckets full of tears during the last half of this book. I must of read the last line about ten times before it began to sink in. I'm still unsure of his true meaning. This is a very powerful book. You feel like you are a 17 year old boy on his journey into adulthood. It grabs you and you won't want to put it down. This was the first book that I have read by Nicholas Sparks, but it won't be the last

Summary: If you HATED Bridges of Madison County You'll hate this too
Review: This book made me want to puke. It is poorly written and an insult to the reader's intelligence. Nothing is left to the reader's imagination--rather, all is spelled out for you lest you miss an unsubtle nuance. Not worth the time it takes to read, which isn't much.

Summary: The Best
Review: A Walk to Remember is a beautifly written heartwarming story about a love that overcame everything. I don't know what else to say besides that it was the best book I ever read.

Summary: REVIEW RATINGS UNBELIEVEAB LE
Review: Three pages into this book, I found myself checking to see if it was age-specific for teenyboppers, or published years ago, before Sparks hit his stride in Time in a Bottle or The Notebook. The poor, amateurish writing was extremely disappointing. I did finish the book, first because it was just a few pages and I read it in a couple of hours, but secondly, to see if there were any surprises in the ending. Unfortunately there wasn't. I will be much more cautious in purchasing any of his future books.

Summary: Great book
Review: Even though there is nothing that jumps out at you in this book, I thought it was a smooth read. I really looked forward to everytime I had a chance to read it. I loved the character develpement. It really makes you appreciate the things you have as well.

Summary: a walk to remember, review
Review: This book, this story, really gets to your heart and has such an immense impact on the way you feel about certain things and all of a sudden, you come to realize that certain people can have the magnitude to change your actions, your personality, and your life for as long as you live. It also touches various morals and lessons that you don't get any day. It is a nice reminder to not take things for granted. I really enjoyed this book, if you didn't figure that like ten sentences ago.

Summary: Least of Sparks
Review: Of his three books thus far, I found this to be the one I least recommend. The story is touching, but not really "believable" enough to capture me emotionally. I still would recommend reading it if you are a Sparks fan, but of the three, it comes in last place.
