Summary: A BOOK I WILL NEVER FORGET
Review: This is the first Sparks' book that I've ever read. I read the book twice in one week. I absolutely loved it, from prologue to the end. Sparks has successfully created characters that we can relate to. The story is very moving. There are pages that made me smile and laugh and pages that made me wanted to cry. I highly recommand this book to everyone whether you are a romantic or not. Can't wait till the movie comes out in early next year or later this year.

Summary: A Book You'll Always Remember
Review: What a journey in an era when "women wore dresses and men wore donned hats", when the Vanderbilts and Whitneys still ruled America, when the murder of the Lindbergh baby is still a byword ... so much for that! The story of Landon Carter and Jamie Sullivan, the story of a naughty rascal and a goody-goody soon-to-be-spinster is not an unusual one but very much common. Opposites are usually the best combination, even for a short time. Being in love with a woman you've always despised and the one you least expected to be intimate with? Why not. Not even his friends' non-stop teasing and a minister's daughter's worn-out fashion sense would stop Landon's pursuit of his long-sought-after-piece-of-the-puzzle whom he always wanted but never knew it until he took her to the prom, joined Hegbert's "soon-to-be-junked" drama, and walked with her every night to her home. It all changed everything, from Hegbert's stubbornness to Jamie's tight-bunned bonnie hair. Magic can happen, if only you believe it. A must-read for all who love fairy tales out there and a recommendation from somebody who hate goddam' love stories. Mr. Sparks created a masterpiece. Always have your kleenex when you start reading it, you can't avoid having one or two drops in the least.

Summary: a love to remember....
Review: A Walk To Remember was the first book I read by Nicholas Sparks. I am a very avid reader and I will say this is one of the best books I've read! It's almost as if he lived that story, that's how real it was. His writing touched me like no other before. I read the whole book in one night. And in that one night I laughed, frowned, cried, and smiled. It makes you remember the emotions you felt when you found your first love. And, for a moment, lets those more cynical believe once agian in true everlasting love....And MIRACLES.......

Summary: Wonderful Book
Review: I found that it was very hard to put this book down. It's probably the best book that I've read. A Walk To Remember is a definite reach-for-the-kleenex-box book. I should say that I don't think it deserves five stars but 4 and a half. The only thing that brings it down is that it seems a bit unrealistic at times. Especially through the middle of the book when one of the main characters "Landon" suddenly falls in love with "Jamie" the other main character. I just couldn't give it four stars.

I reccommend that you buy this book because it's a story that isn't like the others that are out there. Look for the movie of a "Walk to Remember" coming late 2001 or early 2002. It will star MANDY MOORE and SHANE WEST. This books brings you through so many emotions. It makes you laugh, smile, frown and more.

Summary: A Walk to Remember is a book to remember
Review: I'm 16 years old, and my mom gave me this book to read once she had finished it. I read 3/4 of it in a day, only stopping because I had to. It is an incredible story of love and friendship and the trials of being a teenager. Landon Carter goes through disagreements with his father over student council to the embarrassment of taking his school's so-called "goody-goody" to a dance never even dreaming a wonderful friendship would develop and eventually blossom into a powerful love. This is definitely a story you'll want to read with a box of Kleenex near!

Summary: Great Story - Loved It!
Review: nicholas sparks was able to capture the feelings of true love in "a walk to remember". this book kept me entertained with its witty up-to-date humor (i.e.: reference to Jerry Springer). sparks was also able to masterfully create a poignant tragedy about a love between two people that seemed to end as soon as it started. "a walk to remember" was able to almost live up to its promise in its prologue, the book definitely made me laugh but almost made me cry (although tears welled up in my eyes). to sum it up, this book is an easy-to-read bittersweet story that makes you fall in love with its characters and leaves you touched and moved by its words.

Summary: Mandy Moore Stars as Jamie, due out in January
Review: YES!!!!! Mandy Moore, the beloved pop singer will play the part of Jamie in the major motion picture release of A WALK TO REMEMBER, due out in January. This movie will be a tear jerker!!! I read the book in one day. It was very easy to read and very touching, However, u can almost feel what is about to happen next, which is not really good, I want surprises. You will fall in love with Jamie, and Landon. You will be able to relate and learn from both characters. I dont want to spoil anyone's fun but I will say the ending was cute but a little too fake, "unreal". Read the book, its a treat. Then, when the movie comes out, go watch it!!

Summary: Good, but I have a few criticisms.
Review: It is a common occurrence for me to pick up a book in "New Books" at the library, read a chapter or two, and stop -- astonished by the fact that such awful stuff gets published. But Sparks' book held my attention and I finished it at one sitting. My assessment: Fair to good.

However, I have a few comments. First, it is definitely a "chick book" (my wife will love it). In fact, a cynical person might suggest that Sparks has simply discovered a formula to make female readers smile and cry on cue, and is cashing in on the formula big time.

Second, the writing style is confusing, if not downright bad. What I mean is that the story's narrator is 57 years old, recalling the events of his 17th year -- yet his speaking style is clearly that of the 17-year old, not the mature man. (Not that it's fair to compare this book with "To Kill a Mockingbird", but recall that the narrator of that story was a mature woman and spoke accordingly; she didn't relate her tale in the voice of young Scout).

Still, I give it 4 stars just because I enjoyed the story.

Summary: Another wonderful Nicholas Sparks story
Review: I've either read or listened to all of Nicholas Sparks' books, and there isn't a bad thing I can say about any of them. A Walk to Remember is well-written, well-rounded and a beautiful love story that isn't cheesy of cliche. The characters are deep and unique and Sparks manages to portray them wonderfully without boring the reader with details. This is one of the few books that had made me cry, but it was worth it.
