Summary: A book that explores the depth of love
Review: In the year 1998, a fifty-seven year old man reflects briefly on the spring that changed his life four decades ago. When he was seventeen, Landon Carter spent most of his time escaping impending adulthood by hanging out with his irresponsible friends and hanging around with them at the local graveyard. By today's standards, according to him, this was rather tame behavior. But back then, he was considered something of a rebel considering his family's wealthy background, his sweet mother, and his more-often-than-not absent father. He is simply a boy with no idea what direction his life will take when he unexpectedly finds himself becoming a man with the help of a minister's daughter.

Jamie Sullivan is the quintessential good girl. She helps out at the local orphanage, heals wounded animals, and is kind to everyone she meets. She is also something of a plain Jane and is seemingly comfortable with the fact that she is different from others. Landon Carter asking her to the homecoming dance starts a relationship that is slow to blossom but is heartwrenchingly beautiful by the time it is in full bloom. As the two slowly, and even more reluctantly, fall in love, they find their happiness threatened and their faith tested.

This is the first book I've ever read by Nicholas Sparks and I doubt that it will be the last. I was incredibly moved by the love that was shared between Landon and Jamie. Their relationship forced me to look at love from a more spiritual perspective. Despite the fact that I am not a fan of first person narrative, I came to realize that the story coming from Landon's point of view simply made it all the more powerful because it is he who develops and improves. And too, through him, we are better able to understand, empathize, and relate to other characters especially Jamie whose religious fervor might be initially off-putting for those to whom faith is not the cornerstone of their existence. How Jamie compels Landon to tap his potential will move you to tears as you watch him become a better person, the person she knows he is capable of being and he never dreamt of becoming.

Summary: Beautiful
Review: This was a truly beautiful book. I sat down and read the entire book in one evening, it is an easy read but is not just for young people. I could not stop crying after I read the last page or so of the book, I had to read it several times. Unlike another reviwer said, it does not say that Jamie dies, sorry if you have not read the book, but someone who obviously did not read the final pages reviewed the book and mistakenly said that she died, I do not believe, however, that she did and it does not say that she did. So go back and read the last few pages, please, so you don't miss the true meaning of the book. It is absolutely wonderful and I was immensly touched by it, I only hope that the movie version will be as good, and I can't wait to see it.

Summary: From the words of a 13 year old girl
Review: This book was given to me for my birthday, and I couldn't put it down. I finished it in 3 hours flat and during which I cried my eyes out at least 4 times. 'A walk to remember' is a romantic peice filled with emotion and captivates you from the 1st line to the last. When you read it you feel like you're right there with the characters. I recommend this to anyone, especially teens because it represents faith, true love and memory.

Summary: A Tragic Love Story
Review: I am currently lying in wait for the movie to come out. I can only hope that it will be true to the book but I hope in vain that it will not be as tragic :-( The love you never thought would happen. Landen Carter and Jamie Sullivan the popular student body president known for his midnight galavantings in the graveyard and the conservative preacher's daughter who works the phrase "the Lord's will" into every sentence. She is actually a stereotype that I can relate to because I am a preacher's daughter. Anyway it seems like Landen is doomed to boredom around this girl but slowly she seems to grow on him and on the reader. You feel the emotion in the book. I bought this book and ate supper and sat in a cozy chair with it in my hand and had finished it within a few hours I could not bring myself to put it down. I will not go into detail but to say that the ending of this book had you in tears and you felt as if you too had lost something. This book is fitting for teenage girls with a high vocab or understanding (like me)all the way to grown up ladies. The sensitive guys might like it too but it's definitly not a macho book. I hope you enjoy the book! Maybe I'll see you at the movie Take care bye!

Review: A Walk To Remember by gifted writer Nicholas Sparks is a heartwarming story of a mature man (Landon Carter) reflecting on the 'first love' in his life at age 17. A story not to be missed!

Summary: My favorite!
Review: I thought this book was one of the best that I have read in a long time. I have already read it twice and I'm sure there will be many more times I pick up "A walk to Remember". I have read other books by Nichalos Sparks, and I think, by far, this one is the best. I give it two thumbs up, and I can't wait to see the movie when it comes out.

Summary: This was a good book
Review: I originally ordered this book because I was ordering another book off amazon and it's cheaper to order a few things with shipping and handling and I also saw a preview for the Mandy Moore movie the same day, so I figured "Why not?". I was really suprised when I read it because surpassed my expectations by about 100% :) This book had so many emotions, it literally made me laugh and cry during one sitting while reading the book. I suggest this to every teenage girl because it is such a feel-good book it can pick up your bad day.

Summary: A Walk To Remember
Review: The book A Walk to Remember by Nicholas Sparks has to be one of the best books I have ever read. It is a loving story that fills you with all kinds of emotions. This is a love story that tugs at the heartstrings. I would say that this book is aimed more at a female audience. Because of its length and vocabulary I would say that it could be read by people of many ages. Young and old girls alike will love this book.
The plot of this book was very well thought out. The rising action is leading you up to the point of whether or not the two young leads, Landon and Jamie, will fall in love. They face many difficulties along the way. Many people are looking down on Landon for being with Jamie because she's not the coolest girl around. She's a do-gooder and loves to read the Bible. When these two finally fall in love the author hits you with a very unexpected turn. Nicholas Sparks used a lot of foreshadowing and direct characterization to get his point across. At one point in the book, Jamie says she won't go out with Landon unless he promises not to fall in love with her. The book puts out the idea that we shouldn't judge others by outward appearances. We should get to know someone before you write him or her off.
This book stirred up many emotions. I felt sorry for Jamie that no one really knew who she was or all that she was facing. I felt angry that the young people of the town looked down on her when all she was doing was being a good person. I felt so happy when Landon admitted to Jamie that he was in love with her. The book almost brought me to tears at the end. I won't give away the ending, but it was really moving.
My overall impression was that this was a great book with a great message. It follows the life of two teenagers both going through a great change in their lives. They get to feel what it's like to be in love and to lose. Through the whole book I was rooting for them to get together. When they finally did I couldn't believe how it was all to end. All I can say is that I loved this book and would read it again in a second.
