Rating: Summary: A book to Remember? Review: I thought the movie was wonderful, I saw it twice in a row, and cried each time. Now I can't wait to read the book! I bought Riding in Cars With Boys right after I saw the movie and thought it was better than the movie. I hope this book is even better!! I hope it is just like the movie but that it has a little more detail. It will be hard to read it and not picture Shane West and Mandy Moore, But when I bought Pearl Harbor the book, Rafe, Danny and Evelyn all looked like the Ben, Josh, and Kate, Same with In Cars with Boys. But if someone is afraid to read a book because thats what might happen, read it anyway because as you progress into the book you tend to picture the characters differently, especially if the book tells you more about them then the movie does. It's amazing how many movies are being made off of books all of a sudden, I think its wonderful because it causing more people to pick up a book and read because they want to learn more about their favorite characters. I think this book will defenitly be worth reading.
Rating: Summary: Heartfelt and well-written; Nicholas Sparks is a genius! Review: I decided to read this novel after I saw the movie trailer on television about the film adaptation of Nicholas Spark's novel. I finished reading the book in 2 days; I really loved this book and it brought tears in my eyes as it gave me heartfelt joy and sadness at the same time. Landon Carter's narration should've been included in the film version. I was really disappointed about the movie...true they stuck with the main plot of the story, but as movies goes, they modernized the setting of the film instead of just leaving it to 1958 North Carolina. The film version should've been called "A Drive Home to Remember" - even Jamie Sullivan drove a car...that just beats the purpose of the title...and what really irritated me about this movie is that it's targeted for 13 year old teenage girls who did nothing but squirm, giggled, laughed and admired Shane West who played Landon Carter in the movie. I couldn't enjoy the movie because there were too many ooohs, aaahs, laughing and giggle that were not necessary. First of all, it was a Christmas Play instead of a Spring Play, Landon and his friends were not that mean that they played a prank on some kid to dare him to jump and get him injured at the beginning of the movie, it was set in 1958 North Carolina instead of the year 2001. Landon asked Jamie to the homecoming dance and that's how the two started being friends and later got together to help read lines for the play. And most of all, Landon Carter narrated the whole story -- that was the most important part that should've been in the film! For those of you who have seen the film, I recommend that you read the book - you can see the difference and see for yourself which one would you rather see...
Rating: Summary: A heart felt book Review: This is a great book it is a wonderful story about first love and falling in love. The story can be predictable but who cares, it is a story that make me cry. Not many books have done that. If you are considering reading this book do it, you will love it. I however did see the movie, and it is what they say "based on the book". If you saw the movie and you loved it then you will love this book. If you have not seen the movie, you will love this book. I certainly did.
Rating: Summary: "A walk to remember" is literature that you will remember Review: A Walk to Remember is one of those books that I couldn't put down. I'm not much of a reader, so this book is a fit for anyone. It was easily read and goes straight to your heart. The usage gets a tad redundant at times, but at the same time the message shines through. After you read this book, you will examine your life a little closer and wonder if you touch peoples lives, just like Jamie always did. It was heartwrenchng and sentamental, a must read.
Rating: Summary: One of the best books I have read Review: I am 15 years old, and I am not really into reading. I happened to pick this book, and read it. This book was absoulutly with out a doubt, the best book I have ever read. This book is especially great for teenagers, and shows what we go through sort of. I would recomend this book to anyone, young or old!
Rating: Summary: a walk to remember Review: This book was one of the best books I have ever read. Though the first chapter was hard to get through due to the fact that it was boring, you find the most enchanting love story. This book will make you laugh and cry but most of all it will touch your soul in a way you will remember long after you are done reading it. I recommend reading this book instead of seeing the movie too. The movie was injustice for a book with so much power.
Rating: Summary: Amazing book!!! Review: This book was touching and the movie did a great job following the storyline. Take some tissues because half the theater was sobbing!!!
Rating: Summary: A BOOK TO REMEMBER Review: This is a GREAT book. Being only 2 years younger then Landon in this book(2 years younger then he was at 17, that is), i really connected with him and the kind of guy he was. I think this is a sign of a VERY good writer, and Nicholas Sparks is very good. Landon is a lot like me in some ways and reading this book was very inspiring and a great read. It was a great love story with great characters and great writing. I highly reccomend this book without reservation to anyone, though, regardless of age, usual intrest in romance/love stories, or anything else.
Rating: Summary: A wonderful book! Review: This book was a wonderful love story, somewhat predictable, yet lovable because of it. It's a feel-good book that renews your faith in life and love, with an ending that you can almost decide for yourself, but without the typical unsatisfaction of such an ending. I would recommend this especially to teens because it relates to their age group. What a fantastic book!
