Rating: Summary: A read to remember Review: The first time that I heard of this book is when i saw the preview for it on t.v. I was so excited to see it because it looked so good and everybody was talking about it. I saw the movie and thought that it was great, but then my sister was like well the book was so much better and it didn't really faze me because I didn't think that was even possible, so i didnlt read it. Then, i got into college reading and i decided to read the book and see if it was true. It was, I thought that the book was great! the book and the movie were completly different in so many ways. I think that this bool is good for all ages. I also think that this books message is to not take life for granted and actually give people a chance because everybody had certain qualities and something to offer, and you don't know what you will be missing when they are gone and you can't see them anymore. This book is a very good inspiration book, it makes you think about kids like Jamie at your own school, and makes you want to get to know them a little better and give them a try.
Rating: Summary: Love is Amazing Review: The book I read was A Walk to Remember by Nicholas Sparks. This book is fiction, but you can relate it to your own personal life. A Walk to Remember is a love story, about two students in high school. The main characters are Jamie Sulivan, and Landon Carter. Landon Carter has been going to school with Jamie his whole life. He never talked to her, but he has made mean comments about her. Landon is a rebellious teenager, and Jamie is religious, and polite. A dance is approaching, and Landon needs a date. Most girls had dates, while Landon waited to last minute. When Landon looked through the yearbook, he saw Jamie Sulivan. Jamie wasn't his type, but he needed at date. Later on in the book, they fall in love. Jamie influenced Landon to become a better person. One problem is Jamie is holding a secret from Landon, which could change their relationship. In the end of the book Jamie is looking for a miracle. This book is really incredible. It changed my outlook on love. It changed my ideas about marriage. It's about finding love in high school, which is pure, and natural. It's about having someone there for you when your feeling depressed. Do you think your relationship would work, if you're keeping a big secret from your boyfriend? Do you think people can be in love in high school? Do you think two opposites that attract, can work it out for the long run? Many questions come up during this book, about love. Even if you're not in high school, you can relate to this book. I think this book is amazing. If you're into books about first love, true love then you will enjoy this book. It's about how people can change your life. You can become anything you want to be, if you have the right encouragement. This book is more focused for young women.
Rating: Summary: Great Novel! Great Movie! Review: Like everything Sparks writes, "A Walk to Remember" overflows with easy yet beautiful prose. He writes with a sensitivity that seems beyond human and taps into human emotion without being overly sentimental. He pushes and tags in the right places, never over-doing it. If you're looking for an enjoyable but mature read about teenage love, loss and growth, I highly recommend this novel. I saw the movie first and loved it. In my opinion, the movie is equally as good and heartwrenching as the novel. Enjoy both! You won't regret it!
Rating: Summary: Read the book, forget the movie Review: Nicholas Sparks has never failed me when it comes to his fiction. I loved this book as I have loved his others. The feelings between these two teenagers is believable, genuine, and heart-warming. Don't bother with the movie. Although Mandy Moore does a good job, the movie is so skewed from the book, its not worth it. I don't know about other readers, but this had me in tears.
Rating: Summary: If you haven't read this book, READ IT! Review: When I first saw the movie, I wanted to watch it again and again. For Christmas I got "A Walk to Remember" DVD along with the book by Nicholas Sparks. (So far I've seen it nine times.) I read the book and it truly was the best book I've ever read. It inspires me, it taught me to apperciate life more, and not to take anything for granted. After reading "A Walk to Remember", I immediatley wanted to read all of Mr. Sparks books! I just love this one and it will be the one I tell my kids, grandkids, etc. I totally recommed this book to anyone!
Rating: Summary: FABULOUS! Definitely a great story! Review: This story is marvelous! It's actually based on the author's sister's life. Part of it is about "not judging a book by its cover", only it's more touching! If you cry easily reading books, grab tissues. Sit back, relax and prepare to be heart-warmed, touched and enjoy the ride Nicholas Sparks takes you on. Totally worth it!
Rating: Summary: Inspiring! Review: This sad and realistic tale of teenage love and Christian faith is a true classic. With the emotions of the characters, you'll transform and find yourself walking alongside the believable Landon and Jamie. This book is one that truely inspires the Christian soul, after reading it, I set it aside, dug out my Bible, and vowed to finish it.
Rating: Summary: a beautiful and touching love story Review: I believe that there is a book that can touch someones soul and leave them feeling changed just by having read it. "A Walk to Remember" is that book. I recommend that everyone should read this book. I have read this book 3 times and everytime I read it it still gets to me and leaves me in tears. I once heard some one say that just because your done with a book doesn't mean that it's done with you. "A Walk to Remember" is a book that I guarantee you'll want to read more than once. If your looking for a beautiful love story you don't have to look any farther than this book. Highly recommend for someone who is a romantic at heart, and believes that there is that certain someone out there who was meant just for you.
Rating: Summary: It'll make you cry Review: Yes, it WILL make you cry. A short & sweet love story, one that tv shows & movies are made of. Inspite of the traditional & predictability of it, it's a good book. The characters are likable as well.
Rating: Summary: Cheap! Review: Ok... i thought that the story was written pretty well, hence the 2 stars. But the plot is literally ripped off from another story! The book is called LOVE STORY and it's basically the same concept: 1. Rich guy falls in love with not so wealthy girl 2. Girl only lives with father since there is no mother 3. Rich guy has a bad attitude in the beginning and a bad relationship with his father 4. Girl get sick and dies from the same disease that Jaimie Sullivan has!The only difference is Jaimie and Landon are in high school, and the couple from LOVE STORY are in college.
