Summary: A Book To Remember
Review: The story all starts with 17-year-old Landon Carter. He is what alot of people would call a 'rebel'. He is suddenly without a date for the homecoming dance, and as a result of desperation, he asks Jamie Sullivan, the daughter of the town's Baptist minister. He thought she would be the last person on the planet he would ever fall in love with, but as they are put in situations together, gradually he does. Even though she comes to feel the same way about Landon, Jamie is not sure it would be the best thing for them, because she has an eternal secret that could tear them apart, or keep them together. Soon the problem isn't who will know about the secret, but who will stand by your side all the way through it. I give this book 5 out of 5, because it is and always be one of the most heart breaking stories you will hear. -Derek

Summary: One of the best books ever!
Review: I read a walk to remember in two days. The book is one of the best I have ever read. When the movie came out I wanted to see it but first I wanted to read the book. The way Landon falls in love with Jamie is so touching. The book gets very sad at the end but when they get married that is the happiest part in it. I think if anyone wants to read a great book, to read this one, it's sad and will make you cry but it's also a glance at true love.

Summary: Romantic at Heart
Review: A Walk to Remember is a delightful book about a teenage boy who unexpectedly finds the love of his life. This is a romantic story of a boy named Landon who grew up in Beaufort, North Carolina with the reverend Sullivan's daughter, Jamie. The two grew up together; however, did not become friends until they had to do a school play together. While rehearsing together, Landon discovers that there is more to Jamie than just being the reverends daughter. With an unexpected ending, this book will leave the tender hearted with a tear in their eye a smile on their face. I would recommend this book to anyone, but particularly teenage girls looking for a little bit of romance.

Summary: A Walk To Remember is A Story You'll Never Forget
Review: The narrator of this story, 57 year old Landon Carter, begins this story by stating "When I was 17 years old, my life was changed forever". It's hard to appreciate the full impact of that statement until Landon tells us, through the eyes of his youth, the details surrounding that year of his life. Landon promises us that "you'll laugh, then you'll cry", and he's absoloutely right about that.

This is the story of a young man who grows from an immature adolescent into an adult during that year of his life, mainly due to the influence of a young lady. This young lady (Jamie Sullivan) is not popular with the teenagers in her town, and for that matter, she doesn't care what others think about her. She's a minister's daughter who lives her life according to the teachings of the Bible, and she has a strength of character and maturity that is scorned by her peers. As Landon gets to know Jamie after they are thrown together as actors in a play, he experiences living in a way that changes him right down to his core.

The best thing about this book is how Nicholas Sparks tells the story through the eyes of a 17-year-old. The thoughts and feelings of Landon Carter are about what you'd expect from an immature teenager. But as the story goes on, you can see a change in the narration as Landon himself goes through a change. I've always loved the book "To Kill A Mockingbird", because Harper Lee convincingly tells an adult story through the eyes of a child. This book accomplishes a similar goal, even though this book is not of the same caliber as Mockingbird.

This book will grab your attention within the first 20 pages and hold tight right through to the end. The ending will knock you over, so be prepared.

This book shows the importance of following what you believe is right, regardless of the cost. Jamie Sullivan is a person of the highest character and integrity, and should serve as a role model to any teenager (or adult) who reads this book. I highly recommend it to all except the most cynical people who think there is no value in teaching that there can be true goodness in this world.

Summary: The book's FAR greater than the movie
Review: I've been hooked to any books by Nicholas Sparks after reading this book. It's simply fabulous! All my friends who borrowed this book from me got their eyes swollen. "A Walk to Remember" is really touching but at times can be humorous. Best of all, it doesn't include any sex scenes so this is a very clean read. The movie, on the other hand, is quite disappointing because the way the story is told is very different. But you'll only feel that way if you read the book first. Like me. ;)

Summary: A Walk to Remember
Review: This book titled A Walk to Remember is very touching and sad. I wanted to read this book ever since I heard about it. This book is about a boy named Landon Carter who doesn't have true feelings for a girl until he met Jamie Sullivan. He and his friends used to make fun of her because she used to wear the same old gray sweater and reads the bible everyday. She was the daughter of a minister. Landon fell for Jamie because of the play. Jamie asked Landon a favor in participating for the school play. He did, but he didn't really enjoy it. Also, Jamie asked if he could walk her home to her house, and he agreed. The night of the school play, he had never seen Jamie so..so..beautiful. She played the part of the angel. She had her hair down and not in a bun, and she was wearing a beautiful white gown. That's when he started to like her. There was one thing that Jamie didn't tell him, however. Jamie had leukemia. When Landon heard about this, he was shocked. The girl that he loved was dying. So, he spent a lot of time with her. Jamie's dream was to be married in a church with a lot of people. ...
I liked this story a lot. I felt like I was going to cry at the end ... Landon loved this girl so much that he didn't know what to do to keep her alive. He knew he was missing something, and he finally asked her. ... That was nice of Landon to walk her home to her house and finally notice the inside of her. After Landon got to know her real well, he didn't make fun of her. He had feelings for her. He was in love. He didn't care what his friends thought about him liking a girl like Jamie Sullivan. All he wanted was to be with her, forever.
My favorite part of the book was when Landon asked Jamie if she wanted to marry him. When Landon came to her house, she was in bed. She couldn't get up because she was to weak. Then he sat by her side, saying the words, "Will you marry me?" I was touched by that part. I had to read it over again and again. First he asks if she loves him. Then she says,"yes." I was about to cry, but I had to save my tears until I finish the book. I think that pther teenage girls will love this story. I really enjoy this heart warming, romantic book.

Summary: ~*~MY FAVORITE BOOK and a TEARJERKER, MATCHMADE IN HEAVEN~*~
Review: A walk to remember is the most beautiful book in the entire universe, seriously. Jamie and Landon are just a heart-warming couple. The first part of the book was not very interesting, but as I moved on to the middle, the story and the plot started falling back in and touched my heart. I know I may be young, thirteen years old, but this book to me is the most the most touching, heartbreaking story I've read in my entire life. Towards the ending, you feel something in your heart about Jamie Sullivan and start, feeling sorry for her, and begin to love the character more and more and more untli BAMMMM, you cry. This is the only book that broke my heart, shattered it into pieces, and mended it back up in a snap. I read this book for maybe two or three days. I wanted to prolong the book so that I won't miss one word. This is the only book that ever made me cry for hours, practically for days. Cry Cry Cry and fall in love. When you've found someone, you don't have to hid it, but do something about it before it's too late. That's the lesson I've learned from the book, although, it's pretty hard to abide with. You'll fall in love with this book, I promise. Every teen, kid, adult, every senior citizen, non-Senior citizens, Philippinos, Chinese, Hispanic, French, Italian, Portuguese, Indian, whatever you are, should own this book. It makes you laugh, go all tingly, and cry. In the end, the crying just flooded my bedroom. It was the best book. I know I'm saying this gagillions of times, because I urge you to buy this book, and this book should win an award. I cried and cried and cried through good times and bad. You will learn valuable lessons from this book and go into the book to really experience what the characters and author are thinking deep inside. It totally gives you the oppurtunity to dig deep inside of you and learn the lessons deep within. This book is great, and I promise you'll love it.

Summary: predictable schmaltz
Review: This is the story of 17-year-old Landon Carter's first romance with Jamie Sullivan, an unlikely girl who is the minister's daughter. Jamie is a very likable girl -- she reminds me of Melly from "Gone With the Wind". Did it make me cry? NO - because the author told us in the beginning that it would, but did not provide enough imaginative writing to really convey the sadness.

Instead. this reads like the barebones of the screenplay that it eventually became. This could have been a good book if Sparks had developed his storylines more. As it is, you know what Jamie Sullivan's secret is as soon as it is mentioned. Landon's nearly non-existent relationship with his father is barely explored, though it is tossed in there a couple of times.

It is about the length of a typical "Sweet Valley High" book. After hearing such great things about Sparks' books, I expected
more effort. Instead ... it's just predictable schmaltz.

Summary: Absolutely Breathtaking
Review: After reading "A Walk to Remember" I was left in tears. This book was one of the best books I've ever read. I'm 15-years old and I'm not one of read many books but if I do it takes me a very long time. This book took me only a couple of hours to complete because I could not put it down. Nicholas Sparks did an excellent job of portraying the heartbreak and happiness that love brings. I recommend this book to anyone who believes in the power that love can bring.
