Rating: Summary: Beautiful Review: Pro: - Authenticity. This book is based on the author's sister and brother-in-law. A true-life story sprinkled with fictional entertainment to capture the reader's interest. - Substance. The main character of the story values the inner beauty in life and for a teenager, is mature beyond her years. She has high moral values and influences another teenager into changing his ways after showing him the importance of living life with meaning. - Unique. While many books today require shock value of one sort or another to grasp the reader, this author captured the Best Sellers List without it.Con: - The story is set in 1958. A bit difficult to relate to the Leave It To Beaver verbiage "Her bad eye...sort of gave me the willies". -Sweet, but goofy to swallow at times. Overall: The best and most accurate stories are written from experience... and from the heart. This author does just that! Anyone interested in an easy read with substance will enjoy it. Rating: Summary: a hopeless romantic's take on AWTR Review: Okay, so I've read more brilliant writing; but Sparks has weaved a classic love-tragedy story. I am a hopeless romantic, and I melt at this stuff. So obviously I couldn't put it down. I knew the ending reading it, but I hadn't seen the movie, which helped a lot. I still haven't seen it, but from reading descriptions of it, and seeing pictures, I can pretty accurately assume that they changed each and every detail- from the way Landon ends up in the school play to the color of Jamie's hair (no, it's not brown, folks). The book was a very simple yet heartfelt love story, and I enjoyed reading it.
Rating: Summary: Wonderfully Sweet Review: Just so ya'll know where I'm coming from, I'm 16 and a strong Christian. I have to admit that I had never heard of Nicholas Sparks until I saw the preview for the movie "A Walk to Remember". After I saw the movie I had to read the book. In regards to the book, it's wonderful, very sweet and sad at the same time. I'll read it forever. Don't expect it to be like the movie, they had to tone down the Christianity for the movie and it is set in a different time. They are both wonderful in the same way but they are very different. This book is great from pre-teens to older people because everyone remembers their first innocent romance. Make sure that if you are even slightly prone to tears that you have a box of tissues near-by.

Rating: Summary: This a great book/movie!! Review: This book and the movie were great! My friend Erika saw the movie before me and she said it made her smile and feel like crying. She loved it so I just HAD to see the movie myself. It was great. I loved it, but before I even watched the movie I got the book and read it so that I could have both!
Rating: Summary: What an amazing book! Review: I recently purchased the paperback addition of A Walk to Remember. It is the best book I have ever read. I saw the movie and thought it was great also. I recommend this book to EVERYONE! It is a very sweet book.
Rating: Summary: Bad Ending Review: Everything was so great in the beginning. The love betweet the two was fresh. It was a love that I could only wish I would have. I was narrowing in on the end and I knew what was coming. But then the book shocked me with a highly unbelievable unding. Marriage? Give me a break. It was sweet but in a real world that would never happen. Also, like usual the book is 100% better than the movie but that's usually how it is.
Rating: Summary: five stars! Review: i think this book was great! definitely his best! although God's plan could've been mentioned less, it didn't bother me that much. i love this book!
Rating: Summary: Beautiful Love Story Review: I loved this book. It was incredibly moving, touching, and heartfelt. Jamie Sullivan is one of the most memorable, angelic characters I've read in a long time, and the story of the love between her and Landon will not leave my heart for a long time. Nothing is more pure, innocent or beautiful then first love -- untouched by inner conflicts inflicted by past pains. The love that develops between Landon and Jamie is as pure and beautiful as love can be. Jamie is a loving, caring, amazing girl. Despite her terminal illness, her perceptions of the world are filled with nothing but love and faith. Untouched by what others think of her, she is kind to everyone despite how they treat her. Landon gets into typical teen age trouble and is forced to be in the school play as well as to carry out responsibilities that are a daily part of Jamie's life (volunteering and helping others). It is through these activities that these two people's lives cross, and are drawn to one another. Jamie's affect on Landon is profound, and although at first his willingness to accept his feelings for her is hindered by his friends, he ultimately relents and falls for her. He emerges as a person who believes in himself, and even more so, who loves and cares for another human being with such undying strength and compassion. Albeit predictable, this is a great book for teens to read who are struggling with identity and fitting in. There are lessons in this book for young and old alike, about love, faith, and compassion. And about believing in yourself.
