Rating: Summary: A Walk to Remember Review: I would recommend this book to anyone. If you have seen the movie you need to read the book. I liked watching the movie first because I could compare the differences between the two. The book has taught me to treat everyone you meet with respect. I have also learned to treat others the way you wish to be treated. I could relate too the book well. Some of the things the main characters had to face I have been faced with before in my own life. A Walk to Remember is an all out great book. I give it two thumbs up.

Rating: Summary: A rare find...a true love story...a must read for all! Review: I teach 8th grade. One of my students suggested that I read this book. I ordered it from ... and started to read it Saturday. I could not put it down on Sunday. You become so engrossed in the lives of Jamie and Landon. The author gives you a hook in the beginning and reels you in through the book. I think it is a wonderful and beautiful book. It is filled with honest feeling and there is a depth to the characters that you do not usually find. Once you discover the secret that Jamie is unwilling to share, the book takes on a deeper meaning. You will cry, but from your tears you will think of others with Jamie's strength. It is an amazing book!
Rating: Summary: a sweet book Review: It wasn't the best book i've ever read or anything, but it was still a nice book to read anyway...something you'd pick up from the library so that you'd have something to read on the subway ride home. The book does not require a lot of thinking or deep analysis (etc.). It's just a nice sweet good-feeling sob-story book just for fun. but just because it wasn't exactly intellectual, it doesn't mean that it isn't worth reading. i also liked the progression and random sweet but not overly-mushy (for the most part) scenes in this book. they don't start the realllllly mushy sappy dialogues until about the last 20 pages in the book, so it's not that bad. the romance is sweet, because it lacks a lot of the flirty pretentious pick up lines/calculating-to-snag-a-date type of girl/guy drama. overall, i liked it;)
Rating: Summary: Review on A walk to remember... Review: A walk to remember is a truly unforgettable story. It's about these two couple madly in love with each other, but at the end they can't be with each other. It all happen in 1958 when Landon Carter fell in love with Jamie Sullivan, the last girl he thought he would ever fall in love with. Jamie was the daughter of a Baptist minister in town. She would always have her Bible with her everywhere she goes. Jamie was known to be a loving, charming and most caring person in town, to all the adults that knew who she was or heard of her. Jamie lives with her father, her mother died long ago when she was little. It seemed like Jamie was different from the other teens, it seem like she was living in a world apart from the other teens. She took care of he father, rescued hurt animals and helps the local orphanage. No boy in town would ask Jamie out. Then one day Landon Carter ask her out for homecoming dance, after that day Landon Carter life totally changed. Jamie started to see Landon after homecoming, and she taught him the depths of the human heart, and shows him to manhood. In those months getting to know each other better, Landon and Jamie fell in love, but ending up apart. As god took her away from this loving world surrounding her.
Rating: Summary: A Book to remember Review: Nicholas Sparks is the author of many best-selling novels including THE NOTEBOOK, MESSAGE IN A BOTTLE, and his latest love story, A WALK TO REMEMBER. A WALK TO REMEMBER during year 1958, which is a heartwarming story that focuses on two restless young teenage on the account of young, innocent first love, which changes the outlook of the main characters towards life. The illustrations and descriptions of each character create a vivid image in the readers' mind. Landon and Jamie, the two main characters, are teenagers that live in a quiet coast in Morehead City in Beaufort, North Carolina. During those times, when there was nothing much to do, young people would walk around barefooted on wet mosses and mud during the months of April through October. The townspeople, on the other hand, greeted everyone, even if they were strangers. In other words, they were pretty friendly.Landon Carter is a mid high school student who experiences what an average 17 year old doesn't. His father, working as a United States Congressman, pressures Landon to become a miniature version of himself by expecting Landon to run for the student body president. Due to the fathers' job, Landon was often left with his mother whom he loved more. Thus, the relationship between him and his "old man"(as Landon referred in the book) wasn't that firm. He pleases his father by running, and soon wins. Along with becoming a president, Landon obtains numerous responsibilities, including the attendance to the homecoming prom. Since his ex-girlfriend had dumped him, he has to find a date to go to the prom, to avoid embarrassment. An atypical high school girl who wears old sweaters, plaid skirts, and ties her hair up in a bun is the girl Landon decides to take. Jamie carries a bible every where she went and believed in situations in life according to the Lord's plan. Normally, she is not an approachable girl, being a minister's daughter, and not exactly a girl friend material. After the date at the prom, things turned out differently and were unexpected but successful. Willingly, Landon walks Jamie home with curiosity in his head about whether Jamie's kindness was a pretense. One walk back home led to many other late walks. Landon takes part in a Christmas play after much pleading of Jamie. After much thinking, he thinks that she has done a lot from him, and therefore feels that she deserves something too. From, acting comrades, it develops into a more intimate relationship, until actually; they can't live without each other. Jamie diagnosed with a serious illness, Leukemia does not keep the love that these two share, apart. Romance, tears, and a well-developed character like Jamie, brings what one can't expect. Their romance is definitely the talk of the book. This heart-wrenching plot touched me. I now really realize what people could do for love, and how a book, like Jamie and Landon, can't be judges by its cover. Jamie, a simple sweet girl and Landon, desiring prominence and popularity, both are different necessities. What touched me was how Jamie ended up changing Landon into a simple male like her, some one who he wasn't before. The walk after all, was a self-discovery for Landon, and his hidden love he had for Jamie. For all the lovers out there, you could possibly experience the exciting resolution that these two characters face. Furthermore, after reading the book, you could also purchase a video based on this plot, now available worldwide.

Rating: Summary: A book to remember Review: I am not sure any book has ever touched my heart soo deeply as this one did. Yes, the book seems predictable at times...but the author has done a splendid job in expressing emotions and relationships and its hard to put the book away until you finish it.
Rating: Summary: A Walk to Remember Review: A Walk to Remember is a sad but touching novel that represents the beauty of falling in love. Author Nicholas Sparks uses a tragic turn of events to prove that your true love is not only ageless but timeless as well. Landon Carter is the popular guy in school with an arrogant attitude that disgusts young Jamie Sullivan who is the quiet and not-so-popular daughter of a preacher. Despite their differences the two grow very close to one another, much to the dismay of Pastor Sullivan. Unfortunately love doesn't always come easy and a twist of fate forces Landon and Jamie to cherish every moment they spend together. The two race against the inevitable to live out the dream of anyone who has ever truly been in love. The book is one that is difficult to put down because the reader becomes emotionally involved in the story. It will leave anyone with a tear in their eye and a better appreciation of their loved ones.
