Rating: Summary: A Walk To Remember, A Story To Remember Review: I stayed in the tub two hours because I could not stop reading until it was done. Definately worth your time. So short, but sweet. A real tear jerker. Not to mention making me want to volunteer at an orphanage right away.
Rating: Summary: The third time is...well just as charming as the others Review: Nicholas Sparks is one of the greatest authors that I have ever read. Someone suggested The Notebook to me last fall, and I wasn't really looking for a good read, but I found over Thankgiving break in an airport and gave it a chance. The Notebook has come to be my favorite novel. It totally took my heart and held onto it with a deathgrip for the entire novel. Last winter I happened to come by Message in a Bottle and recognized the Author and then the title. So I bought the book and held on to it for a little while. It wasn't until the very end of Christmas break that I had decided to read the book. The novel kept me so captivated, that I did nothing I was suppose to...only read the Book. The sheer poetry of the writing and the characters and story line touched my heart. It was then that I knew that Nicholas Sparks would forever be my favorite writer. Needless to say ( and all you Sparks fans will know where I am coming from) from last Christmas until two weeks ago, I eagerly anticipated the arrival of A Walk to Remeber. The moment I saw it in the Bookstore (I believe it was released earlier than was previously stated) I was elated. I started to read the novel while I was walking through the mall. When I finished, I realized that I had just read one of the most inspirational and touching novels of my life. Sparks, you have done it again. I thank you for being my inspiration, not only as a writer, but as a person as well. I can not wait for the next little miracle you create.
Rating: Summary: A must read for anyone who enjoys a good book Review: "A Walk To Remeber" is the best book I have read all year. I finished it in one day, I just could not put it down. As soon as I finished it I told everyone that they should read it. It was just as good as "Message In A Bottle", if not better. Mr. Sparks is an excellent writer and I recommend everything he's ever written.
Rating: Summary: His best yet; triggers all emotions; moving; get the tissues Review: His own favorite and mine. Nicholas said this is fav. and I can see why. Not as tragic as Message, but sad in it's own way. Very heartfelt and moving story, he based on his sister. Knowing that his stories are tied so closely to his own life, you can't help but feel you know him. I'm waiting for the next and just hope it takes longer than 2 hrs. to read...I hate finishing his books and having to wait for the next! Happy to have such a talented and deserving best selling author living in NC, esp. including our little towns in his creations!
Rating: Summary: This book is quick and interesting. Review: This book excites a person to look deeper than the surface of a person. It causes them to see more. That is the success of this book.
Rating: Summary: Captures the struggles of growing up Review: A Walk To Remember starts out like a high school essay, but then pulls you into a beautiful story of life, love, growing up and learning to make the RIGHT decisions. I think the book teaches us all a lesson about human nature and looking past our "illusions" of WHAT we think people are about and taking the time to learn WHO someone really is. A touching story and entertaining read.
Rating: Summary: The love story of our dreams Review: After having met Nicholas Sparks today at a signing and hearing him talk about the inspirations for his books I am even more moved by them. He commented today that Jamie is based on his sister although he has taken literary liberties in changing the time to the 1950's among other things. Nicholas Sparks has a gift that allows one to escape to a place where love is true and everlasting. Thanks Nicholas. Meet him at a signing if you have a chance.. you won't soon forget him or his wonderful love stories.
Rating: Summary: A touching story of an innocent first love. Review: Once I began reading this book, I couldn't put it down. Sparks has a wonderful way with words. He makes you want to keep reading to find out what will happen next. He kept saying things like, "You'll find out why later." I wanted to know why!
Rating: Summary: A story that will leave you wanting to take that walk. Review: Another masterfully told story that I fell in love with and can not wait to share with my friends. I enjoy reading Nicholas Sparks because he writes the way I would talk and think...the inflections, the stutters, the WORDS...they are very ordinary and down to earth, just like most people. I kept putting the book down so I could make the story last longer. The relationship that develops between Landan and Jamie is real and watching them both grow and accept the differences in each other, and in those around them, is painful, sad, happy, endearing. After finishing the book, I sighed, wiped my eyes, and walked around with a smile on my face the rest of the evening.
Rating: Summary: Author Joel Rothschild says this is a wonderful read Review: This was the first book I've read since I finished my book Signals which will be released in a few months. It did everything a book should do, it took me away on an adventure. It's truly a great read.
