Summary: "A Walk to Remember" Closes Another Chapter
Review: Only with the writings of Nicholas Sparks do I sit and read for hours without getting up once until I have read the last word... This story was no exception to the two that came before. After reading this book, I came to a place in my life where I always thought I had been, but never really was. Learning to live, love and let go is one of the most difficult and riskiest steps to take in life. Always thinking that I was doing these things, and then reading this book made me realize I never was. I have closed chapters in my life that have been invisibly open for years, and I thank Mr. Sparks for helping me get there.

Summary: "Marvelous"
Review: Nicholas Sparks leads us to the turning point in a young man's life and how he finds himself on the road to maturity no matter how many detours he tries to take. Abruptly faced with a truth beyond his years, he learns that bad things happen to good people. This book takes us on a journey to acceptance of situations that cannot be changed and how one person touches the lives of many, knowingly or not. It had a real life message that many reviewers seem to have missed, unfortunately. I found it to be a "marvelous" read with a seven tissue ending.

Summary: Corny, Unrealistic, and Utter Sap
Review: I once again picked up Mr.Sparks latest book, in hopes of finding a refreshing change from the other novels on the market. I was very disappointed. Mr.Sparks plot was dull, lifeless, and totally unbelievable. I found that the characters were not too deep and lacked real emotions. The information provided barely skimmed the surface, and left me feeling untouched. The characters dialogue was corny and very unrealistic. No teenager I know has ever spoken like those characters, nor I have yet to find a constant Bible carrying 'Jamie' in the real world. The plot is is poorly written and is dull. The book moves along at a slow pace, then when it hits 20 pages from the ending...it starts to 'deepen.' Personally, it needed to 'deepen' from page one. Plus, it seems to me that Mr.Sparks third novel bares remarkable resemblance to his other two novels. I was hoping for a change, but found none in this novel. The plot was predictable and depressing to me...just utter sap. For someone looking to read a thorougly great romance, you may want to look elsewhere. For a pre-teen or teenager looking to read a depressing fairy tale...this is the book for you.

Summary: I hate reading but loved this book
Review: I had never read a Sparks book before, though I have heard they are very good. I usually hate to read books but found this story to be great. Sure it's really sad and kinda corny, but it gives a small hope that love is really out there. A real tear-jerker.

Summary: A wonderful book that kept me spellbound from the start.
Review: This is an excellent book that I would recommend for readers of all ages. It grabs the reader's attention from the very beginning. Until you have finished the book, be prepared to abandon all other plans.

Summary: Don't think I'll ever read Nicholas Sparks again...
Review: As I was surfing on Amazon one day, "A Walk to Remember" came up as a suggested title based on things I had purchased before. To say that I was thrilled to see another Nicholas Sparks book was an understatement. I bought it immediately and couldn't wait to get started. I was sorely disappointed. I absolutely LOVED "The Notebook." Not one to cry at movies (let alone books), I found myself shedding a couple of tears at the end and have since recommended "The Notebook" as my all-time favorite EVER and have purchased copies as gifts for a number of people. I enjoyed "Message in a Bottle"--although, not as much. I hoped for more of the magic from "A Walk to Remember," but I found it predictable (I guessed both "surprises" long before they were revealed), and I felt like I was reading something written by a 17-year-old, which would be great if I were in high school, but I'm not. And I'm used to reading novels that are much better written and more developed. Perhaps working with a major publisher has created a "need for speed" in Mr. Sparks, but his writing needs more time. I think "A Walk to Remember" could have been just as beautiful and touching as "The Notebook" had he given it more time. (And the larger type to make the book longer just shows how under-developed the story was.) It will take much convincing for me to purchase Nicholas Sparks' next release.

Summary: Outstanding - Nicholas Sparks does it again!!!!!
Review: I happened upon Nicholas Sparks by reading the Notebook and fell completely in love with his writing. He's warm and funny and makes you dive right in from page 1. After finishing the Notebook, I immediatly looked for other books of his and found Message in a Bottle which was also great (movie was no where near as good). So, I now put myself on waiting lists for his books because I will never miss a Nicholas Sparks book as long as I am able to read. A Walk to Remember is as outstanding as his other writings.

Summary: pure drivel
Review: I had read message in a bottle, and while it wasn't the BEST book I ever read, it was still enjoyable, with a little twist at the end. But this was absolutely midless drivel. It was lazy use of the English language; it was so un-thought-provoking!And the story was so predictable, that it is inexcusable that Sparks would not even devote an iota of effort to making the launguage interesting! I felt I had wasted a few hours of my life that I will never get back.

Read this if you are hard up for entertainment, and just want to kill a few hours. But do not look to this book for stimulation, or even for a good story! It was just mindless drivel.

Rating: 1 stars
Summary: Not worth the wait
Review: Drivel is about how to describe this. Very predictable and not very engaging. I give this a thumbs down. I have read his other two books and thought both were very good. A big disappointment here.

Rating: 1 stars
Summary: Predictable --- same old story
Review: USA Today tells us that Nicholas Sparks "has taken as his subject romantic love" -- I beg to differ. I believe he is obsessed with death! People who believe that this is the best author they have ever read have obviously not read very much or of any variety.
