Rating: Summary: A wonderful, insightful book Review: Reading this book was like looking through a window into the soul of Nicholas Sparks. Although it was the very first book by this author that I have read, it will most definitely not be the last. I feel that the journey through the history of his family is crucial to understanding the real reason for the trip with his brother Micah. After completing this book, I felt as though I had been a family friend for all of my life.
Rating: Summary: Full Of Heart Review: Thats exactly what this book has-Full Of Heart. The brothers go through so much together, life is a challenge, sometimes so unfair but the one thing-the clearest thing spoken is that they have the ultimate gift-Love. Full of heart! Also recommended: Other Memoirs-A Child Called It, Father Joe,Running With Scissors,Nightmares Echo

Rating: Summary: Another Beautiful Story Review: How amazing is Nicholas Sparks? He writes so sensitivly and sincerely. Three Weeks is particularly unique among his works because it is a memoir. It faces all the memories of trajedy in the two brothers lives ie: their mom dying, their dad's car accident, the death and illness of children and so many other turbulent matters. I really have come to understand why Mr. Sparks became a writer. His experience is valubale to anyone who reads a sentence of his. Tied into the memories that are explored in this memoir, are adventure and intrigue into mythical parts of the world. I couldn't put the book down. It is eloquent and beautiful as well as touching and easy to relate to. I loved the overall importance of family and the bond that ties the brothers together forever. It reminds me a little of Lucky Monkeys In The Sky by M. Geraldi (especially with the travelling, the facing the past, and the way it conveys an overall very important message) only in it is about brothers instead of young woman and her family. Both deal with some very serious, extremely emotional issues, and deal with these issues in a profound and artistic way. Three Weeks With My Brother is a very well done novel. I thank Mr. Sparks for letting us into his life.
Rating: Summary: Five stars are not enough Review: How I missed this book is beyond me. I was enthralled by "The Wedding" and other works by Mr. Sparks, but this one slipped through the cracks. This is by far his best effort and is a wonderful story of two brothers, ages 37 and 38 who are the only remaining members of a family. Their story is touching and wonderfully written--I don't see how Nicholas Sparks is EVER going to out-do this one! Would also recommend two other books, though they are of totally different themes and styles. They are, "The Birth of Venus" and a book called "The Bark of the Dogwood." Both are excellent reads, but by far, "Three Weeks" is my favorite. Bravo Mr. Sparks. Keep giving us more!

Rating: Summary: Hard to put down Review: I had never read a Nicholas Sparks book but had seen an intro to it and since I have an older brother I was intrigued by what the story may be like. I read the book in a few days and thoroughly enjoyed it. In fact, I just ordered three more Sparks works today. This is a must read for anyone.
Rating: Summary: A Poignant Memoir Review: I had never read anything written by Nicholas Sparks up until "Three Weeks With My Brother." I think it is a great read. I met Nicholas and his brother, Micah at the Festival of Books in Los Angeles. They were very friendly and you could see the love between the two of them. My one gripe about the book is the amount of grammatical errors. He misuses "me" and "I" numerous times. It drove me NUTS!!!!!!!!!! Nevertheless, the story of Nick and his brother completely touched me and I would definitely recommend it to anyone.
