Rating: Summary: This Must Be A Joke Review: This has got to be the stupidest book I have ever read. I cannot believe it was published and am very upset I paid money for it.

Rating: Summary: The Klone and I Review: I had to see what others thought, that's why I signed on here... This has the be one of the worst books I have read in years... Do hope that there isn't anything seriously wrong with Daniele Steel. I once was a fan of hers and read most of her novels until I found myself bored with the plots and the words became repetitious.... I always laughed when I came across the much used word CHARGRIN... think that's when I switched to other writers for my pleasure... back to this one... I am shocked that it was ever published... if I wasn't laid up with a sprained ankle I am sure I never would have continued to the end of the story, it was that bad...The only saving grace was that I bought the book at a garage sale.. for .50... way, way, overpriced though... my daughter just informed me she is starting a book by Danille Steele... "The Cottage", for her sake I do hope that it is of some value.... as for me, doubt, I would ever try another of her books.
Rating: Summary: fast reading for an obvious reason Review: Danielle Steel is a funny writer, as far as I know after reading "The Klone and I: A high-tech Love Story." She's funny because she thinks readers are dumb and gullible enough to buy her too-simple-to-describe plot... First of all, there is few description about cloning technology... I don't think so... Just imagine a clone arrives at the door of an ordinary house in suburban America. The female character should have called CNN first and the world should know about what's happening to the human race facing the dreadful consequences of irresponsible cloning scientists. It's very funny in the quirkiest way I've ever read.
Rating: Summary: The Klone and I: A High-Tech Love Story Review: This was truly the worst book I've ever read. The characters were unbelievable and the story line was absurd. The characters had bad attitudes and I wouldn't even want to know these people. I tried to get into the story line but couldn't draw myself into it because it was so insane. I was also disappointed in the writers repetition of rhetorical questions and inability to move on with the thought process. Just to give you a taste, there was a klone of a perfect mate that was made of wires etc. Steph has great sex with this klone as they do triple and quadruple flips throughout their sexual encounters. Steph thinks she has to make a choice between this wired klone and the real thing. I've read some of Danielle's good work but I can't believe they published this one.
Rating: Summary: oh dear god Review: I might as well be honest about my feelings for this book. How can so many people stand reading this (crud) that's passed off as a novel? The Klone and I has a laughable plot and ridiculous characters that I despised and cared nothing about. I really don't get why people spend their time reading trashy romance paperbacks like these when they could be reading REAL love stories, or doing something productive. The only reason I even picked up The Klone and I was to see what it was like; after all I'd never read Danielle Steel before. Now I wish I hadn't bothered. I'll attempt to talk about the plot and characters. Stephanie is a 40-something, sex-starved divorcee with two kids, and despite her pathetic attitude and unhappy divorce, she's fairly well off. It made me want to smack her for being such a helpless ditz. Anyway, she meets a British guy, Peter, who's well-dressed, intelligent, and cares for Stephanie a lot (which I admittedly didn't understand). They have great sex, too. Then, Peter goes off someplace on business, and his genetically engineered clone, Paul, comes by. He looks like Peter, but their personalities are remarkably different. Stephanie, being the idiot she is, falls head over heels in love with Paul. He's handsome, he's funny, he's free-spirited, and the kids love him. And they have great sex. Of course, being a genetically engineered clone with some glitches, he's immature, dresses weird, and has a drinking problem. Stephanie, having no ideas of responsibility or morality (but if you're a Steel fan, you won't care about those things anyway), wanders back and forth between her liaisons with Peter and Paul....until she gets confused about her feelings and knows she must choose between them, but oh, who should she pick? By this point, my eyes were rolling out of my head. Recommended to insipid housewives with hair rollers only.
Rating: Summary: Not DS at her best. Review: I love Danielle Steel's work but this was not my type of enjoyable reading. Funny in the beginning I could not get a grasp of the concept that anyone could make a person so perfect as to make you believe they were real i.e. skin, hair, eyes, brain. heart. I guess that was my bottom line. It was not believable. It was definitely a step out of the ordinary for DS.
Rating: Summary: A welcome departure for Danielle Steele Review: Although this book is a little out there, I found it very refreshing. Danielle Steele actually can be extremely funny! I listened to the audio cassette, and found myself laughing out loud. The performance by the reader was excellent, and the overall light tone of the book was a welcome change from Steele's usual repetitive stories. This story is in first person, which is a departure for Steele. She really should write in first person more often because her great sense of humor shines through. I would recommend this story if you are willing to read or listen to something that is a little different.
Rating: Summary: The worst Danielle Steel book to date Review: I have been reading Danielle Steel's books for over 15 years now. Sometimes they do get a bit "all the same" with most of the characters being important, successful, beautiful people who live in "stately homes" and wear "important jewels and furs". Sometimes I think the characters are more about what they have then who they are. Despite this, I always enjoy her books - they are easy to read, romantic and make you forget about everyday life for a couple of hours while engrossed in the book. Personally I think her earlier books are more enjoyable and get more involved in the characters than some of the later books she has written. The Klone and I is by far the worst Danielle Steel book I have read. A klone in place of her absent boyfriend? What on earth was she was thinking when she wrote this? I found it far-fetched, silly and not the least bit romantic. I didn't enjoy it at all. Usually I re-read my Danielle Steel novels over and over (I own them all) but this one has been put at the back of the shelf and will never be picked up again. Not recommended - try an earlier novel like "Full Circle", "Crossings" or "Thurston House".
Rating: Summary: ????? Review: I've read all of danielle steels books, and this is so far the most disappointing. I just didn't like the story line. What was she thinking??
