Rating: Summary: Steel's worst ever! Review: I am a Danielle Steel fan, therefore I just coudn t believe that she had written this lausy book! I am just sorry that I ever bought this book.
Rating: Summary: This book gets my top honor of.... Review: ...the stupidest book I have ever read. I kept waiting for the book that would have a different plot from all the others she has written, and this is what we got. Needless to say, this was the straw that broke that camel's back and I will never read another Danielle Steel book ever again.
Rating: Summary: A total waste of time and money!! Review: I have no idea how anyone can ever think of liking books by Danielle Steele. I've read two of her books so far and both of them were absolutely rubbish. This one was particularly disappointing. The title seemed intriguing to me, which was why I had bought the book in the first place. However the story is nothing like the title. In fact, after having read the whole book I found I did not even like the title anymore!! Such a deep negative impact! I do not recommend this book to ANYONE and I feel extremely sorry for the ones who've already read the book by mistake.
Rating: Summary: At last, a real woman for a lead character! Review: I gave up on Ms. Steel long ago, due to the fact that by page three of any of her books, I could predict what would happen down to the last detail. So I quit reading them, and was spared the boredom. However, this book was a gift for Christmas, and when I finally broke down to read it, I was pleasantly surprised that Ms. Steel would allow her main character to have blueberries in her teeth, less than perfecr hair, nails body etc... yes the plot was sci-fi, but I was so delighted to read about a real woman, I didn't care. Plus it was funny, not dull and boring. Encouraged by this book, I went to the library and borrowed some of her newer releases and only to find that, alas, this book was an irregularity in her style.(YAWN!) So again I await the day for fresh writing and less boredom from Ms. Steel.
Rating: Summary: The Klone and I Review: All in all I thought it was a good story. Four star rating instead of five due to the fact that the whole book is written in first person. I found that hard to get use to and a little annoying to read at times. But I loved the ending!
Rating: Summary: Much better than most will testify to. Review: The Klone and I is not your typical Danielle Steel love story, where the heroine has a perfect life, something really terrible happens to her, and then true love solves all the problems. In fact, I found this more to be a satire about our ever-expanding technology. It is about a woman who's boyfriend has to go away, but sends a man who looks exactly like him. However, he dresses much differently (bad disco fashions) and acts on desire more than common sense. The rest is hard to remember (haven't read the book in years), but I remember enjoying it very much for it's satirical context and good first person narration. However, I must give this book 4 stars because the satire really fails to state a point the way satires like George Orwell's Animal Farm do. However, this book is far from boring.
Rating: Summary: Lame as hell Review: this book was pretty bad.. IT had no story point and i think the things with the klones was stupid. But i gave it another star just because she is danielle steel , and she is the shizzel..hey we all make mistakes...
Rating: Summary: Very Repetitive, banal writing Review: I purchased this item online, thinking it had an amusing premise. I've never read a Danielle Steel before and boy, I must say I was UN-impressed. The Heroine Steph is a limp-noodle divorced heroine with poor-self esteem who blames herself for ruining her marriage because she wears flannel night-gowns and doesn't shave her legs. (Please girl, come out to west coast some time)! The hero, Peter is a scientist who works at some vague bionics firm. When Peter goes away he sends his Klone Paul to keep Steph company, little realizing Paul would jump in the sack with Steph. Predictable antics ensue.Okay, I was prepared to like the Klone and I. But I just couldn't. Steph was whiney, pushed around by her spoiled daughter, who acted like a brat and seemed incapable of taking care of herself (why didn't the older girl babysit the boy, rather than Steph having to hire a sitter all the time?) Paul was a conservative nothing with no personality. The only interesting character was the Klone, however the author wrote this character to be so 'over the top' that he wasn't enjoyable. Example: Typical Klone outfit: leopord skin leotard, silver lamee shirt, lime green pants, and high-heeled boots. In fact, the Klone dresses like a drag-queen half the time. Personally, I ended up finding that more interestign that what the heroine/hero were doing. What I couldn't deal with, was the author's attempts at humor, which I thought was quite sophmoric: Example:the Klone playing charades at a Christmas party spells out 'fart,' the neighbor's dog goes to the bathroom on the lawn, again and again, and this is thought to be so horribly hilarious that it must be mentioned several times.. I don't know.... This was just irritating. Very UN-funny. The heroines insecurities reach record-breaking levels with inner dialog singing just one note: "I loovee Peter....But does Peter....Love me....? I love Paul, but Paul is only a klonnnne....." I wanted to tear my hair out. Overall, a cute idea which was horribly executed and inflicted on the poor readers.
Rating: Summary: STUPID! Review: I can't believe I actually bought this book! I love Danielle Steel, but this book had to be a joke! I'll make sure I come here to check the reviews before I ever buy a book again!
Rating: Summary: The Worst Book I have ever read... Review: There is no way I can discribe just how bad this book is. I finished the book thinking the plot has to be a dream or something the lead charactor had, and possibly it could be redeemed. No such luck, it's just a horrible story. The woman in the book should have had her kids removed from her household by CPS. She allows a drunk klone to stay in her house. Totally stupid. The charactors are all shallow and unlikable. The only thing that is good about this book is the the ending, because then you no longer have to suffer through this awful story.
