Summary: An enjoyable read...
Review: I would recommend this book to family and friends. By the end of the second chapter I was hooked and really wanted to find out 'who did it'. I believe in spirits (not spooks! lol) and I'm a animal lover.

If for some reason you don't like animals and are not interested in the spirit world, then the book wouldn't hold your interest. Though I just can't understand why someone wouldn't love animals! They would have to have a steel heart, right?!

Summary: Not so good......
Review: First of all do you know any man who would use the phrase "flopsy-doodle" to describe a hat? My husband would have to relinquish his manhood if he ever said that. My biggest problem with this book is the dialog was not realistic. You could tell the author was probably older and all of her characters sounded like someones Great Aunt Penny, even the men. The plot seemed to meander quite a bit too. One hundred pages into the book I was still wondering what it was about. This book was so smarmy I couldn't even bring myself to finish it.

Summary: A great read...
Review: This book touched on all of my emotions. It takes alot for me to get interested in a book and this book had me on the first page.
I wanted the book to go on forever. I would reccomend this book to anyone.

Summary: WONDERFUL
Review: How can anyone not like this wonderful book. Fern Michaels has once again out done herself with this one. This book has everything!! Romance, humor, suspense, and mystique. Jane is so much more everyday. She has had an overweight problem. She has had to deal with a parental issue, and social issues, and yet she overcomes them to find happiness. Not every woman is a "Barbie" doll size.
And for anyone who is an animal lover, this book will tug at your heart strings. And who could not love Trixie and Fred. As one person mentioned earlier in a review, she got emotional when Jeeter got his K-9 sheild. That was such a touching moment.
I highly recommend this book to anyone. Fern Michaels has a jewel with this one. READ THIS BOOK!! You won't be dissapointed!

Summary: What a disappointment!
Review: This book was not at all up to the standards of previous books by this author which I have enjoyed. The writing style was totally different.

I was uncertain about whether I was to treat this very serious plot as a joke due to the inclusion of every trite phrase or cliche I have ever heard in what I presume was supposed to be a breezy style of writing. Where could the editor have been?

This read as if it were by a totally different author from previous books by Fern Micheals.

Summary: Quick, interesting beach read
Review: I read this pretty much without picking up a newspaper or a magazine, which says a lot for the book. It's heroine is flawed and so is her love interest - and they are modern flaws. I was laughing out loud in parts, and enjoyed the doggie dramas. I think there is a serious problem with setting the story in Louisiana with nary a black character. Also, the source of funds and the escapism of everyday money concerns didn't help my suspension of disbelief. In all it was a merry romp and I'm recommending it to my friends and family that want a little escapist book that isn't a bodice-ripper.

Summary: cute, random novel
Review: I enjoyed this light, frothy book that tackles some issues you wouldn't normally encounter in a light Safeway read. I found the dog plots humorous, and the love interactions were sidelined for some heavier issues that weren't bogged down by Oprah-style reading pendancity. If you want a light read that doesn't insult your brain, go for this. I think it could handle some improvements - some of the plots wrap up a bit too easy, and the characters have trust funds out of nowhere - but it is escapist and delivers on the small issues that it tackles to deal with.

Summary: Too Plain Confusing!!
Review: The cover really grabbed me and I thought the book jacket description sounded more promising than the actual story turned out to be. I'm a dog lover so I have a soft spot for an author who incorporates the importance of our canine friends into their work. However, I have read other books by this author and found this to be my least favorite. It seemed as if she took a few unfinished novels and put them together to form this "stew"! The paranormal aspect was ok in that it was "fun" instead of scarey but I felt it wasn't necessary. Besides, I don't abide by encouraging such beliefs. The brash language by the Godmother wasn't necessary either....could have kept the quick wit and gone with colorful colloquialisms instead! There were just so many plots happening all at one time, the storyline felt somewhat disjointed. Although Ms. Michaels did try to tie them all together, I was bogged down reading this and felt a sense of relief when it was over. I didn't know what to focus on, the patients, the dogs, the love story, the difficulty with practing psychiatry or the rape mystery. She needs a new editor!!! All in all.....a tiring mildly rewarding read.

Summary: Boring ! ! !
Review: What was this book about? Where was the romance? This is the first book by Ferns Michaels I have ever read and definitely the last. Is like a collection of unfinished thoughts. The characters are vastly undeveloped and the plot is lost under piles of unrelated events haphazardly throw together. What I keep wandering is, how exactly did this book make it to the Best Seller list?

Rating: 1 stars
Summary: I tried, but..........
Review: I just could not get into this book. I did not find any of these characters interesting. The plot is boring (if you can call it a plot) and just plain stupid. Don't bother!
