Summary: The same tale told everytime - much worse this time...
Review: A book by Danielle Steel is always a book with the Danielle Steel brand, as if you were seeing a "TM" or a R inside of a circle by the side of her name. You go to the bookshop and choose your book by her like you choose your favorite brand of candies.

As a male fan, I have to say that her new books have been seeming fairly trite to me. Books like SPECIAL DELIVERY, for example, are the kind of ones that she seem to write only to make money. The plot of the book is poor, with no deep characters and no deep insight on the plot itself. I think she'll never write a book like THE RING, MALICE or THURSTON HOUSE anymore. They now seem to me like things from a far past. These books have all the elements that her latest ones don't: a real good story, with characters that seem to make part of your life that you miss when finish the book.

When I read a new book by Danielle Steel, what I feel now is that she has forgotten how to write a good bestseller. Even in good new ones, like The Long Road Home, what she's being doing most is a big and boring melodrama (although in that one the reader can see a little bit of good plot). And that's what she's done with that terrible book, that revolves around a couple that begins hating themselves and then loving each other more than life. Have you ever perceived how Danielle Steel makes even bretrayl and cheating seem to be a good, right and excellent thing to be done? That's a reason why I like her: the gift to persuade the reader and turn a bad thing into a good one. But it seems as she's now deceiving her readers too much. Her present books are not up to her best ones. Not the ones like the boring SPECIAL DELIVERY, anyway. A book that I finished reading only because it has just a few pages. One page more and I would scream. Terrible, boring and dull. The kind of book that means nothing, as if you were reading blank pages. I think she should return to the road where she once was.

Summary: Don't even bother - too short!
Review: An author can write a short book and it will be well received (i.e. The Gift) but this book falls very short of that lofty expectation. I felt while reading this Steel took her formula of putting wealthy people into everyday situations and just wrote a book to get it out to her publishers for some deadline. I read this book in an hour, and at the end of it, I found myself extremely disappointed. It's one thing if the book is good, and short, but this was not that. I would advise you not to waste your money on this book, but if you do want to read it, borrow it from your local library or a friend.

Summary: Danielle has done it again!
Review: Another winner - thank you Danielle Steel! I buy
your books as soon as they come out in the bookstores.

I especially liked this book because I could identify
with the character since we are in the same age range.

Good story. It gives age 50+ single women hope

Summary: Where has the author gone ?
Review: Can anyone tell me what happened to the real Danielle Steele ? I am the first to buy her books, as soon as they hit the shelf, but Special Delivery was the worst buy ever!

The plot was weak, and the characters even weaker. I predicted the ending one paragraph into the story, and had to endure the rest. Luckily I read fast.
There was no feeling, and the author made no attempt for the reader to create any empathy towards any of the characters, which she usually does so well.
What happened to the author that wrote 'Palomino', 'Season's End' and 'Golden Moments' ? As much as I loved her older books, I would gladly wait longer to read one of her new books, if it were better than the ones being put out every three months now.!!! Come on Danielle, you can do better, and that's why we still buy these terrible ones!

Summary: Not worth anyone's time
Review: Cardboard characters; weak, transparent plot. This is the second Steel book I have read - never again. Stupid problems solved within pages (with much hand wringing). At one point, Author has main character sitting up all night discussing their interests ... would have been nice for reader to learn what these people were interested in, so we could care more about them.

Summary: Perfect Diversion- Beachside read!
Review: Danielle Steele writes another diversionary read with a fun happy ever after ending! I love this kind of book for a quick mental getaway. Read it in one sitting and think of it as the perfect style writing for women who just need a quick fun pick up. Entertaining and fun to read.

Summary: delivers another good hit
Review: Ever since I was in High Schoool I have read her books and never been disappointed. In this book she deals out a little dose of what could really happen. I laughed outloud and was amazed at the prospects of their situation. It just goes to show that life can immate art. A true delight in the sense that books are meant for.

Summary: Far fetched....
Review: I agree with other readers. This book was totally unbelievable and predictable. I could not relate with the characters or the situation. I read it only because it was given to me by a friend. It's a skimmer, meaning: it isn't worth reading in detail, just skim to get the basic idea and believe me, not much is missed.

Summary: ITS TIME FOR DANIELLE STEEL TO RETIRE- THE WORST EVER!
Review: I can not believe that Danielle Steel could have written this!! I have always read her books, but have noticed that after the publication of "Accident", it's been all downhill ever since. She probably wrote this in less than a day, and only because she had to produce something, anything, to fufill her contract. From now on if I decide to try to get through another one of her boring, senseless and tedious books, it will be a library check out. She should be ashamed for having even put this out. Danielle gets' an "F" for "Special Delivery".
