Review: Every night I bugged my wife by reading delightful passages to her. She couldn't wait until I was finshed so she could read it, but I hated for the book to end as I enjoyed my time with it so much. I loved it.

Review: Night Watch is a great read! a wonderful mixture of action (sailing) and contemplation (cultural reflections). The author has a freshness of style which I admire, managing to be both eloquent and earthy. I was truly sad when the saga ended.

Review: Nightwatch is superbly written and would be worth reading just for the wonderful way that Mrs. Knecht sees and describes things, events, people, feelings and situations. In addition I had the feeling that I was traveling around the world with her. Sometimes I just wanted to grab her husband, Jerry, and make him go ashore with Suzanne to experience some of the wonders, but I also know why it was important for him to stay with the boat. The only problem was that I found myself sweating and slapping bugs in the insufferable heat as she looked for the phantom waterfalls. The picture of "Paradise" that she drew in my mind was more realistic than the photos in the travel brochures.
