Summary: A Difficult "Must Read"
Review: I actually bought this book for its first-hand description of the Moluccas/Maluku as seen by Magellan's expedition in the early 16th century.
While Pigafetta did write more about those islands than about anywhere else they called at during their long sail around the world, the old-fashioned style of writing made this a hard read and I struggled to get through even those chapters relevant to the Moluccas.
Still, it is an important and valuable first hand account of a truly historic voyage and it does contain a lot of interesting information about the early contact between Europeans and Moluccans.
