Review: Very interesting. I work in an office day in and day out and really enjoyed reading about Thom Tansey overcoming inertia to get out of his office and into the field to hunt for and dig up dinosaurs. This is not a textbook, thankfully. I can relate to the author's experiences of learning about dinosaurs from his field work and his research. The book is entertaining and enlightening. As the author points out, dinosaurs were not the lumbering brutes we had been led to believe, as I was taught. Some of them, at least, were probably warm blooded. Some lived in vast herds like the wildebeest in Africa or the caribou in Alaska. Some cared for and nurtured their young, sometimes in nests. I certainly enjoyed traveling with Thom Tansey on this journey of discovery. And I didn't have to even leave my easy chair, though I am now tempted to try a dinosaur field trip myself.
