Review: I can see quite clearly what Sam Cook is aspiring to here and that is the only reason I gave even two stars. In my opinion he fails to evoke the true feeling of this wonderful part of the country. He also has the irritating habit of refering to himself as "he" or "the man". People interested in the north woods will be better served by reading Sigurd Olson.

Review: This is one of the best books I've read in a long time about going up north. Fish,hunting,camping, and meeting other people are the best settings in the book. The book makes you feel like your up in the wilderness hunting or on the lake fishing.
