Rating: Summary: Not particularly helpful Review: After reading this very thin and occasionally funny book, I'm afraid I'm still very much terrified of flying. I did not find Campbell's advice-which includes bringing a book of limericks to the plane-particularly helpful.
Rating: Summary: A recovery program from someone who knew the terror Review: Before I developed the system described in this book, I would avoid flying using any excuse I could think up. If I was forced to take an airplane, I would sit rigid in my seat, with a white-knuckle grip on the armrest. I couldn't talk. I couldn't eat. I couldn't drink. Even breathing was difficult. My terror was all-encompassing and many times I felt like I was about to lose consciousness. Nowadays, though, I don't mind flying. In fact, I rather enjoy it.I wrote this small booklet because I know there are hundreds of thousands of people who feel the same kind of fear. If my system can help even a few of them, I'll have accomplished something of which I can be proud. Will my system help you? I think so. It does not require any specialized skills or require you to do anything outlandish. The key to the system is understanding your fear, and learning not to be afraid of it.
Rating: Summary: My friends loved this book. Review: I have several friends who hate to fly and thought this book was useful. They also read The Backseat Flyer which gave them info on a particular flower remedy that calmed them down. Both books did the trick.
Rating: Summary: Flying again with confidence! Review: I received the booklet "Overcome your fear of flying" two weeks before my flight. I have been dealing with this fear for over a year with a therapist and had some relief but not enough to fly comfortably. I carefully went through the suggested plan. It does take some investment of time but I did not feel like it was an excessive amount. The main point of the book is to really examine your fear and get use to its mental and physical symptoms. Fear is not something to run away from and cover up with medications. Apparently, this was what I needed to do to finally overcome my fear of flying. Both of my flights were much better than the ones previous. I am so thankful that I got a hold of a plan that is simple to use and had immediate results. I highly recommend it!

Rating: Summary: This book accomplishes what its title claims Review: This is a good little book. By little I mean that it's actually a pocket book, which is nice because I can bring it along on the airplane with me. Its advice is helpful and one thing I liked is that the reason for each bit of advice is explained. That is to say, it explained how fear attacks me in an airplane and tells me what to do about it. My only complaint is that the book requires you to do some work up front, which means it's not much help if you plan to fly on the same day you buy it! After reading the book and doing what it recommends, I'd have to say that I can now fly without massive fear. I can't say I love flying, but maybe one day I'll get there. All in all, this book has had a positive impact on me.
