Summary: Basic Information
Review: I have read this book in preparation for a trip to India. Although there is some interesting information, I really don't feel prepared for my trip by reading this book.

In this book, the author mentions the many festivals and religious events, but keeps the descriptions minimal. I now know when they are, but I really don't think I understand them.

He also mentions the many places you will want to go and how you will want to get there. Many of these are so general that I really don't know why I would want to go there. Granted, botanical gardens are wildlife preserves are pretty. I want to know why I should go to one rather than another.

For me, who will be going to Delhi, this book was not of much help. Stacey covers the entire country which I believe is what kept all the descriptions very general. This is a book I would recommend reading if you know nothing about India. It is not a book I would take traveling with me.
