Rating: Summary: Full of useful info Review: This Fodor's guide is jam packed full of information. The decriptions are detailed and accurate. However, the reader can easily be overwhelmed with the amount of info. The positive aspects include reastaurant / hotel guide and cost, brief historical description and then description of places of interest. My only gripe is that I wished this guide book contains pictures. If you want a quick starter / brief overview of Naples and the Amalfi Coast, best bet is to get hold of the Eyewitness series which has good pictures, cross sections of buildings, etc. After that, head over to Fodor's and plan your journey.
Rating: Summary: Heading to Naples Review: We're moving to just north of Naples in a few weeks and Fodor's comes through again with a travel book that seemingly takes you to the place before you even get there. The combination of Naples and the Amalfi coast is a good mix for this book -- especially since we're going to be living in the area. Since it covers only the specific area we're most interested in, it allows us to get a more detailed look at what is there -- something I didn't seem to get in travel books with a focus on the entire country.
