Summary: Runge Delivers the Goods
Review: This is not my first encounter with Mr. Runge's work nor, I hope, will it be my last. I started with Rum & Reggae 2000, the definitive "inside scoop" on the caribbean, and I've been hooked on Runge ever since.

This is not your ordinary travel guide. It reads more like a converstation with a friend over cocktails. And what better way to plan your next trip than to chat with a friend who has 'been there and done that'?

Be it solitude or 'sauce' that you seek; deserted beaches or a little cha-cha-cha, you'll find it here.

Summary: What a book!!
Review: What really grabbed my attention when I opened the box from amazon.com was the cover of Rum & Reggae's Hawaii. The illustration and colors just pulled me right in. A true piece of artwork! I am very visually oriented and this book did it for me. As the saying goes: Don't judge a book by it's cover. With this one you can. From the moment I opened the book I knew it was going to be great: full of humor, wit, opinions, and experiences, not to mention great reviews of everything from hotels, helicopter rides (with safety ratings), beaches, restaurants, and even those best-kept secret places. I had never given the islands much thought until I read this book. After reading it cover to cover, I decided to plan a trip to Hawaii. I am torn on where to go; the north shore of Kauai or Hana on Maui. Mr. Runge's description of the north shore of Kauai, Hanalei, the Na Pali coast, and the helicopter trip to Mt. Waialeale was incredible as were his description of the drive to Hana, Red Sand Beach, and even the Hana-Hotel itself. Both seem like heaven on earth to me. I just can't decide. Maybe a trip to both is in store. I'll let you know where I decide to go!
