Summary: Book Review, Northwest Arkansas Times
Review: . . .The authors have listed many of this town's best eateries, including those that are hard to find, like Herman's Rib House. This indicates that the guide could be a big help if you're ravenous in an unknown town

Review: Finally! A restaurant guide for people who know there's life outside Manhattan

Rating: 5 stars
Summary: This book answers the question I've asked in all my travels.
Review: Having lived in a number of cities, I find the recommendations given to be consistent with my own research. I've used the book in Seattle, Detroit, Nashville, New Orleans, Atlanta, New York City and LA (Lower Alabama), and it hasn't steered me wrong yet

Summary: maybe the most useful book I've ever owned
Review: I have eaten at about 200 of the restuarants in this book and with the exception of one they were dead on. I wish an updated version would be published. Some of the listings are closed.

Summary: How reliable is it?
Review: I was puzzled by the selections chosen for my hometown. Especially puzzling was the choice of Edgardo's for "Best Latin American Restaurant". Edgardo's is an Italian restaurant without a single Latin American offering on its menu. Since Arlington has an excellent array of Latin American restaurants, this error is inexcusable.

Summary: Synopsis:
Review: Researchers at Magellan Press spent more than two years gathering information on nearly 10,000 restaurants recommended by local residents in more than 1,000 U.S. cities. Unlike many other restaurant guides, "Where the Locals Eat" includes not only dining recommendations for larger cities like Chicago, Dallas, and Detroit, but also for hundreds of smaller towns like Broken Arrow, Oklahoma; Rochester, Minnesota; Killeen, Texas; Vacaville, California; and Pascagoula, Mississippi. Designed to fit in a glovebox or briefcase, "Where the Locals Eat" is fast becoming an indispensable companion to both business and vacation travelers

Summary: At last, a good restaurant guide for the rest of us!
Review: Take it from a well-traveled glutton: This book does a fine job of filling the huge gap between the Michelin and Mobil Guides and the yellow pages. It offers the best choices in a variety of categories not only for the big cities, but for the real-life destinations where we need the most help finding something good to eat. Want good pizza in Knoxville or Chinese in Peoria? _Where the Locals Eat_ takes you to the best in town. It also serves as a great starting point for one of my favorite pastimes -- comparing notes with friends on memorable meals on the road. Unless you're anorexic or willing to settle for yet another Big Mac, don't leave home without it

Summary: We've had good experience
Review: The book gives a concise description of places to eat in any size city in the USA. Does not give a lot of detail but can be useful if your not always interested in five star restaurants.
