Review: This series is often excellent and this one on Venice does not disappoint. The only chapter that I skimmed was the one on religious connections. Endlessly fascinating though and ideal to take along if you ever visit Venice. I also love the fact that the author does not get bogged down so much discussing the architecture and gives plenty of historical background. I also dug the fact he went off the islands to finish up talking about nearby cities like Padua, Verona and Vicenza.
