Review: We chose Cadagon for our independent travel after extensive "guide comparisons". This one won hands down. It will get you up to speed with its thorough (30+ page) history of Russia, and detailed walking tours. We particularly liked the user friendly format of including sites, restaurants, and tranportation on the facing pages of the walking tour maps; more detailed info followed. With the compact size and excellent info, we easily conquered public transportation, including lots of day trips. Memorize the cyrillic alphabet (a must), buy this guide, and have a ball!
