Review: Strip---(District) refers to merchandising-commercial warehousing/ RR & truck freight depots,built early 1900's..when railroads dominated. On Penn Avenue--100+ shops attract customers,many leftover from when it was truly wholesale pricing. Transitioned to much more entertainment in 90's....industrial dancing,floating niteclub, national chains,!Starbucks*!, micro breweries,biker bars. Parma Sausage,purveyor Italian meats,had its Kielbasa made famous by PFA vendor,DJ Huber on festival circuit. Wholeys has best giant fish sandwich,with own spicy hotsauce

Review: The "Strip" refers to historical & architectural significance--role of this area in Pittsburgh as commerercial-truck & RR freight depot,warehousing including produce yards. In 90's emerged also as entertainment-club/venues...& dockside-the boardwalk--floating niteclub/marina. Penn Avenue is mecca for shoppers,believing yet-that wholesale prices predominate. Wholey's & Benkovitz Seafood is #1...Pama Sausage: Kielbasa,Italian style,rates very high with Penn Festival assoc.
