Summary: A must-read for lovers of food and/or travel
Review: These are stories of how travelers made connections with people and places through the medium of food. Some of the stories are hilarious, others make you want to hug someone you love. Almost all of them will make you want to learn more about other places and cultures. This is simply one of the best books on food I have ever read.

Summary: the travelers tales guides continue to blow me away...
Review: This book is incredible. Whether you view the Travelers Tales series as a travel collection or as an essay collection, they are fabulous. I find that after each book I read, the list of places I want to visit grows. And I also continue to be impressed by how well-edited all of the titles are. This particular book is a bit edgier than some of the other titles. They really stretched the limits of what food is. I am living abroad right now and sometimes I feel the need for familiar tastes so deep down in my soul. It was comforting to read a book that recognizes the importance of food in our lives and culture. The themes and experiences presented in the stories surprised me. I kept wondering what they would throw at me next.
Reading "Food" is an adventure of the most wonderful kind. I highly recommend this book. And pick up any of the other Travelers Tales while you're at it. They're all excellent.
