Rating: Summary: I Simply Refused to Part With This Wonderful Book! Review: Just prior to my trip to France, Orgasmic Days in the South of France was recommended by two friends. I didn't think I'd need an addition to the other two guides I had previously bought, but as it turned out, this was the only one I used. In fact, I left the others in a hotel room. On the other hand, I would never part with this wonderful book. Firstly, I adored the journal. It was an interesting read and very informative. And the twenty-five orgasmic days were so unique. I can't imagine traveling to the French Riviera without this book. My trip never would have been as enlightening, as much fun, or as successful without it.
Rating: Summary: A Treasure Review: My husband and I just returned from our European vacation which we thoroughly enjoyed thanks to the help of a number of guidebooks. Some have good maps while others give nearly perfect info on days and hours of attractions. But Orgasmic Days in the South of France, more of a journal/travelogue, offers detailed reviews and colorful descriptions of terrific restaurants and a multitude of unique places of interest. From these excellent portraitures readers can easily decide which seaside towns or hilltop villages would be most interesting to them. My husband and I used all the books but we really treasured this one. We particularly enjoyed the references and anecdotes to family and friends of the author which contuibuted to the book's personal touch. We had one experience in the town of Vence where my husband and I entered an elegant shop, Louisianne, recommended by the author, just 5 minutes after she had left. We would have enjoyed thanking her personally. Our favorite attraction was Renoir's House in Cagnes sur Mer. And the most surprising village was Vence. All these were depicted so well in Orgasmic Days and I'm quite sure we never would have gone to any of these places without the book. We're pleased to give it our highest recommendation. Rating: Summary: Orgasmi Days in the South of France Review: My husband and I just returned from our vacation in the South of France. We have been there many times so that area is quite familiar to us. But this year was special, and all due to that wonderful little book, Orgasmic Days in the South of France, by Barbara Keller. I don't consider this book to be a travel guide. It is so interesting to read. It reads like a novel. However the book did give us wonderful guides to so many great resraurants, and as great as they were they were still affordable. We adored for example Le Vieux Couvent and Les Templiers, both in the town of Vence. It was also a terrific guide to excellent museums. I enthusiastically recommend this book to your readers. RCC
Rating: Summary: Beautiful southern France Review: My wife and I thought we were South of France "experts." We've enjoyed the area so often so that when this book became available it seemed to be something we might appreciate. Now that we've read it we can't wait to go back. Orgasmic Days in the South of France has introduced us to so many hilltop towns we've never known existed, and museums off the beaten path. What's more, the author tells charming stories of artists, authors, and other celebrities who we never realized lived in the beautiful French villages. The book is written in an interesting conversational tone. We love the journal and the stories of the friends and family who visited Barbara Keller in France. Both my wife and I find ourselves picking up the book and re-reading portions. I think anyone planning on visiting the South of France should first read this book. It isn't typical. It's both informative and enjoyable.

Rating: Summary: Perfection Review: One might say I'm a travel book junkie, and I believe this is the best of all the rest. I generally travel with 5 or 6 guidebooks, but on my recent sojourn to the South of France, Orgasmic Days was the only one I used. The only preference would have been to join the circle of family and friends so fortunate to have the author, Ms. Keller, as their guide, but that unlikely scenario was not possible, so my wife and I happily contented ourselves with this wonderfully written, beautifully illustrated book. Orgasmic Days is part travelogue, part guide. The journal is so enticing that my wife and I, frequent travelers, couldn't wait to land at the Nice Airport to try out some of the suggestions. We felt as though the book introduced us to townspeople we would meet, and that's exactly what happened. We talked with M. Bissieres at the Vence restaurant, Le Vieux Couvent, and to Dou Tchon-Koui at Yang Tseu Kiang in St. Laurent du Var. We were charmed by Serge at the Verrerie in Biot, and by Stephan in Les Templiers, another wonderful Vence restaurant we never would have found. The guide, written as 25 orgasmic days, was so interesting. It sent us to Renoir's House, open to the public, to Matisse's home, near the extraordinary chapel he created, to the stunning Villa Kerylos in Beaulieu. We had a cappucino at the Cafe Van Gogh in Arles. One of the most memorable sections of this book gives short, interesting bios of the people who lived in various southern French villages. We'll never enter Nice again without thinking of Isadora Duncan entangling her scarf in the wheel of an auto, dying of a broken neck. We'll never go to St. Paul de Vence without picturing Yves Montand and Simone Signoret lunching at the Colombe d'Or. I loved learning about Scott and Zelda's connection to Antibes, Jean Cocteau's to Villefranche, and on and on. All one needs is Orgasmic Days and a detailed map for driving. I highly recommend this, the most perfect travel guide I've ever used, to anyone interested in a spectacular vacation in the South of France.
Rating: Summary: A Choice Guide Review: This book "made" our trip. I was reluctant to visit an area I knew little about but several friends recommended Orgasmic Days to me and I took the chance. I adored reading the book before my husband and I left for France and used it multiple times during our trip. We stayed at the conveniently located Hotel Diana, met Mimi at the wondrful restaurant, Chez Gianni, in Monte Carlo, and found the charming Serge in the Biot Glass Gallery. All the advice gleaned from this book was excellent. My friends were right to be so insistent. I'm delighted to share my book experience with all interested Amazon users. I would like to add that this book is primarily a guide book and should be reviewed as such, not as a novel. I adore it! Many thanks to Barbara Keller.

Rating: Summary: A ten year old goes to Provence Review: This book is written like a fourth grader telling about their summer vacation. I was very disappointed in the content and the shallowness of the text.
Rating: Summary: "Fun" Review: This is a terribly written book. The name dropping of every restaurant owner and spouse by first name is obnoxious, the tone is pretentious, and the prose is limited at best with repetitious phrases and most everything described simply as "fun". We received the book the day we were leaving and packed it without examination. We ditched it at our first hotel. There are many much more informative, well written, and less superficial guidebooks to the south of France. Waste not your money on this one.
