Summary: Alright book for kids
Review:
While this book is strictly for younger audiences, it is a factual and easy read.

Dominic Cantori is a foster child who has been through many foster homes in his life. He does not know who his parents are or where he is from. On a field trip to Ellis Island with his classmates, he hides in a janitor's closet so that the other children do not find out that he has no real family. He ends going to sleep in the closet and wakes up to an empty Ellis Island Museum. He ends up going back in time to 1908 and meets a few boys who end up being his friends.

As I said, this book should be strictly for a younger audience. I say this because it is more than a little unrealistic and overdramatic. But it is okay.

Summary: It¿s out of this world!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Review: I rate this book five stars because it's adventurous, exciting, and it leaves you wondering what's going to happen next.I can only tell you a little because I can't spoil the book for you...but I can tell you this much.Well,it all begins when Dominic,an orphan, was on a class trip and he left the group...a boy named Salvatore died because of pits...when Dominic came off the boat at Ellis Island in 1908... Francesco used a pin to carve a ... Dominic found himself in the museum back in the year 1996. Sorry for skipping a lot of the story..but like I said at the beginning I can only tell you a little because I can't spoil the book for you. So you'll have to read the book to find out what parts of the story I did not tell you!

Summary: IT¿LL KNOCK YOUR SOCKS OFF!!!
Review: I think Orphan of Ellis Island was a really good book. Every chapter something different was happening & the author left you wondering at the end of the chapter what would happen. Here is an example of something different happening in each chapter.Dominic was on a class trip in the present time in one chapter and in the next he is in Italy back in 1908! An example of the author leaving you wondering what would happen next is when Salvatore was sick and you were wondering if he was going to live or die.

Summary: This book is amazing!!
Review: I think this was a really great book and everybody should have a chance to read it. There was a sad part in it but that was ok. The person who died in the story was Salvatore. There was a boy named Dominic. He went back in time and had many adventures there. At the end you are left wondering if it was just a dream. Dominic found out at the end of the book who his Great-Grandfather was. If you read the book you will find out!

Summary: Great Book I loved it!
Review: I thought this book was great only I read it to do a project on Ellis Island and it gave a little information on that but it was more on Italien immigrants. But it was a really fun book to read and I couldn't put it down!

Summary: A Really Exciting Book
Review: I'm 9 years old and my mom let me read this book and I thought it was a really great book. It explained what it felt like to be going to Ellis Island. It was really hard to put down when I had to. I read it in 2 days! I just wish they could have talked more about the examinations the people go through when they come to Ellis Island not just the ship ride and before they go there. I could really imagine I was right there with the people going to Ellis Island.

Rating: 5 stars
Summary: Even reluctant readers love this book.
Review: I'm a fifth grade teacher and our class reads this book during a unit on immigration. I've used it for two years and the students love it. Students who usually dislike reading moan with disapproval when I say "put away your books until tomorrow." It is exciting and is a great way to integrate instruction. Students who read about this time-traveling orphan express appreciation for their own families who are often taken for granted. Donna King, teacher on Long Island, NY
