Summary: Excellent Insider Tips & Advice
Review: According to visitors to my web site (GetawayWeddings.com), Walt Disney World - believe it or not - is one of the most popular destinations for a romantic vacation! For couples planning such a trip, there is one must-have book: Walt Disney World for Couples: With or Without Kids by Rick and Gayle Perlmutter. The authors reveal everything you need to know about WDW before you arrive in Orlando. And, not only are their tips right on the mark, they are designed with a nod to romance and adventure. First and foremost, this book debunks the myth that WDW is just for kids. Rick and Gayle highlight what's important to you and suggest which resorts, attractions, restaurants, and special events match your vacation mood.

Walt Disney World for Couples begins with an overview of the typical trip experience. They touch upon Disney resorts, park admission options, sticking to a budget, and more. You'll find frank discussions that zero in on the resorts on and off Disney property. Armed with this book, you'll be able to compare and contrast different hotels. In addition, you'll find solid tips regarding the theme parks, restaurants, shops, and recreation. This is one book you can't live without if you plan to sweep your honey away in a swirl of romance during your next visit to the World.

Summary: This book made our trip to Disney World a success!
Review: Although we weren't at Disney World as newlyweds or on a romantic getaway (we took 2 teens and 2 adult children with us), the informative articles in this book about the hotels, restaurants and attractions helped our family plan a very successful trip to Disney World.

We had purchased 5 different guides to Walt Disney World, but found ourselves referring back to this one the most. After we got home, we re-looked at the descriptions and found the Perlmutter's were the most accurate and honest.

I highly recommend it and will get an updated version when we travel to Walt Disney World again.

Review: As a Disney World veteran, I still found this guidebook helpful. It has wonderful suggestions for adult and couples activities. There is also detailed information about Disney's resorts and event the concierge level rooms and suites (information that is difficult to find in other guidebooks).

Summary: Tons of Tips
Review: I have read a few different guidebooks to prepare for a week in Orlando. I found this one to be pretty useless. While I'm sure the authors were sincere, its cloying enthusiasm for anything Disney makes it impossible to use this book as a way of focusing your vacation- they were basically thrilled with everything.

Summary: Definate Romance
Review: I used this book to help plan my honeymoon in Disney, and it came in very handy! All of the little nooks and crannies they suggest are there, though the Japanese garden was tough to find. One item that I would have given higher marks to was the Bistro de Paris. Expect to spend at least 1.5 hours on dinner, but if you time it right (about 7:30) and ask for a window seat facing the lagoon, you should be having coffee just in time for Illumination with no crowds to fight. They gave it one heart short of perfect, but the above made it the standout dinner of the honeymoon!

Summary: Everything you ever wanted to know about Walt Disney World..
Review: I was amazed by the thoroughness of this book. It seems that the Perlmutters have achieved the impossible - seeing everything at Walt Disney World. The descriptions of the hotels, attractions and restaurants are very detailed and include many helpful hints. I always thought Disney was for kids until I read this book - I am now really excited about visiting Walt Disney World as an adult! The only downside to this book is that there is no real "critical" voice - the book contains no negative criticism of Disney. Can EVERYTHING at Walt Disney World be as great as the Perlmutters say? With that said, it is still a very good book.

Summary: Don't be fooled
Review: In preparation for our January 2003 trip to Disney World, I bought just about every book available (5 in all) to assist me in the planning process, including this one-- which looked promising. I've discovered that the key to a good Disney Guidebook is in its TIMLINESS. Things are constantly changing at Disney. That being said, it's important to note that while this book says "2002-2003" on the cover, the prices reflect those for 2001 and so do some of the attraction suggestions. While I know it must be challenging trying to keep up with all those changes, the Unofficial Guidebooks and others have done a MUCH better job of keeping pace. I would suggest that the Perlmutter's take it one year at a time in terms of publishing dates in order to deliver the best quality product for their readers. I will say that some of their suggestions are worthwhile, as long as they are still available.
