Review: This is an authoritative, detailed guidebook that includes information on little known regional gems that are not covered in many other series. The descriptions of sites, particularly historic ones, is excellent with interesting anecdotal information to enliven the historical. The recommendations on accommodations and dining are always quite trustworthy and again include less well known hotels and restaurants. The book begins with an informative and interesting history of the region.
