Summary: The Original Guide to Micronesia
Review: As the author of the 1st, 2nd, and 3rd editions of this handbook, I'm very familiar with the subject matter and am pleased to see how Neil Levy has developed and improved the guide. All 70 maps are now computer-generated and printed in two colors. Neil has broadened the scope to include more information on the upscale facilities, while expanding the ecological discussions. As a companion to my own guide Moon Handbooks South Pacific it's unmatched, and I recommend it to both travelers and serious students of Micronesia.

Summary: Lots of good content...but one serious flaw
Review: I used this book for a current Micronesia trip, and found the text to be accurate, quite helpful and refreshingly funny. Professor Levy writes well and passionately about the region. The one problem I have with the book (and it's a pretty big one), is the maps are fraught with errors (distances really off on scale maps, road turnoffs not even close to where they actually are, buildings not where they're indicated). Don't get me wrong - the text is great. But if you're going to travel to Micronesia, use the book and spend the time to get a better set of maps!
