Review: ...on my recent visit to wonderful Munich. This book/guide WAS indespensible! Honest evaluations, excellent directions and commentary. A friend lent me his copy (previous edititon) and now I am so much oweing him a favor or two. I am very hapy with the new edition. But beware, even if you are not travelling to the city and read these pages, you certainly soon will want to -- makes for great reading, too.

Review: A well organized and informative book on Munich's beer gardens. It uses a 0 to 5 frothy mug rating system of the top establishments plus gives tips on everything from how to get there to how to properly hold the beer mug (mas). Even has section on the many festivals including Octoberfest and Fruehlingsfest.

Review: During my recent trip to Munich this book was of enormous help. We didn't have time to find out for ourselves which beer halls were good and which were so-so. This book saved us much time finding the best halls near our hotel. Anyone going to Germany(Munich)will find this book a must if you want to find the best in German Beer and hospitality..

Summary: The Munich Beer Vade Mecum
Review: I have visited Munich at least a dozen of times since then the iron curtain dropped down. It is very pity that I've read this book just now. Today I already know almost the every place and beer garden described in the book. And I think, that anyone going to Munich will find this book a must if he/she wants to find the best in German beers. Now Munich is a quite popular place to visit for many Russian tourists, especially during the Octoberfest time. But even if you are not going to Munich, this is a good read. The descriptions of the beer gardens are very entertaining and correct. Recommend it!

Review: I lived in Munich for 10 months, and used the previous edition as my guide. It enabled me to find incredible biergartens that I never would have found without the book. I really recommend the book to those who will be spending any amount of time in Munich, and who love the biergarten atmoshpere that is only found there. I am buying the new edition to see what I missed and to plan my next trip. (Hopefully soon!) Prost!

Review: I took this book with me to Munich and followed its recommendations closely. As a result, I found some terrific places off the usual tourist beat that made for some great memories. I strongly recommend this book to any beer lovers who want to get beyond the Hofbrauhaus.
