Rating: Summary: Better Titled "Manhattan: An Explorer's Guide" Review: I did enjoy reading this book, and I do think it's useful-- just not as useful as it might be. First, you should be warned that most of the book is devoted to chronicling the neighborhoods of Manhattan. The "outer boroughs" section is very small, especially for the amount of territory it purports to cover. Second, the book is divided out by neighborhood, so you have to have some familiarity with Manhattan to be able to find the information you need. (You can't just look up "museums" and expect to find a listing of all New York's museums at your finger tips.) However, there is a nice index provided at the back of the book. If you are traveling to New York, I would recommend you use this book as a supplement to another guidebook.
