Review: The book was about as bad as the 15 "Dives, Joints, All-Night Cafes, Noodle Houses, Buffets, and Other Cheap Places to Eat" that we tried.

To be fair, the title is accurate (which is the only reason I rate the book 3 stars). Though many, of the locations listed that we tried were just "Dives."

This book is more like a collection of Dan's articles, and less like a review of places to eat in San Francisco. Save your money - this book is written for San Francisco's jaded.

Review: This book is for the literate diner who choses to eat well on a budget. The comments are objective. The humor is often so pointed that the reader would have to enjoy reading during the meal
