Rating: Summary: A Treasure in your Pocket! Review: Alors! Forget those silly tourist maps and fold-out Paris plans that hardly show anything. Forget too any map that unfolds the size of a newspaper; you can imagine how inconvenient that would be on a crowded Métro car! There is a very handy and complete little Paris street guide by Michelin. It's Michelin number 16. The size is 7 1/2 by 5 inches. Printed on sturdy paper stock, it includes streets, Métro, R.E.R. and Bus maps. It also has maps of the Bois de Boulogne, the Bois de Vincennes and La Defense, along with useful telephone numbers. The extremely readable street maps are organized by arrondissement, which is the way Parisians organize the city in their minds. There is a complete index of all streets, so you can look any place up and find it easily while you're out and about. With this little spiral-bound book you can just flip to the pages you need, no folding and unfolding a clumsy map. Traveling to Paris? Don't leave home without this classic. Even better, use it to help plan your trip. Bon Voyage!
Rating: Summary: What a great map Review: I bought this map for my trip to Paris. It is such a great map. Very readable and so well organized. Having a map in a booklet format like this is indispensable.
Rating: Summary: THE best! Review: I spent the fall semester of 2003 studying in Paris. I'm a type A so I was really prepared before leaving -- I'd done a ton of research and I couldn't imagine arriving in Paris without a map. So I headed down to my local bookstore to buy one. I happened to come accross this Michelin map and it was perfect!!It has ring binding so it's really easy to keep open without creasing the pages. It's also broken down by arrondissement and in the back is a road index. All of the metro stops and even taxi stops (a God send at times) are marked down!! And in the inside cover you find a map of the Paris Metro system. It's also really really thin and can easily be taken wherever you go. I really couldn't have down without this Paris Pocket Atlas! My friends all purchased their maps in Paris (Paris Pratique). Trust me though this one is far better and more convenient!!! I loved it!!
Rating: Summary: Wonderful Map! Review: Last year I struggled through Paris with a huge, fold-up type map. This year, I'm taking this pocket-sized one, and I expect it to be a lot easier.

Rating: Summary: Complete map of Paris in a very handy format. Review: This is a complete map of paris and all its surrounding neighborhoods. The most important thing about this map book is that it is pocket-sized, spiral bound, and organized by Arrondissements. You can very quickly find the map you need. You don't look like a lost tourist staring at a two-foot by two-foot unfolded paper map (which typically tears along the fold-lines). The pages are a high-grade of paper. And the map can be held discretely in one hand.

Rating: Summary: Unbelievable detail and readability Review: This pocket Atlas of Paris is a book/map that truly amazes me. I bought it based on the reviews here, and I am still awed by it. The navigation of the pages is well-done and user-friendly. You can quickly lookup and flip to the right neighborhood you need. The level of detail is amazing. Even pedestrian-only shopping arcades are there. The metro stations are easy to find and use. With this spiral atlas and a mini-compass velcro-strapped to your watchband, you will never be lost in the maze of Paris. Key sights and monuments are labeled and drawn in brown (with the correct building geometries!). Wanna change plans on the fly and zip from one neighborhood to another? no problem. You will spend less time looking for sights and more time touring. We even used the one-way street detail of the atlas to pre-plan our drive thru the hustle of Paris traffic; Zipping around the Place de Madeline and Champs Elysees was a real rush and treasured memory. The whizzing by of passing scooters made me feel like I was an X-wing in a Tie-fighter dogfight. I wish I could have a guide like this for every city we tour.

Rating: Summary: Ideal for Tourists & Residents Alike Review: When I first discovered this book when visiting Paris, I thought it was the most innovative idea and a real gem. After many more trips, I have found it to be invaluable and more useful than I could have ever realized. Many of my Parisian and French friends have their own copies so it is not just a "tourist" thing. Even when I am in the States, I find it useful for recalling the zip code for my friends' Parisian addresses or remembering where that one great bistro is located when recommending it to a friend. The pocket-sized scale of the book is most helpful in fitting in an average suit pocket or the most elegant of evening purses. It is a Parisian must along with real café and good pastries.
