Review: I was not though impressed with the photography, but I found this book immensly useful during my last rip to Constantinople. I am a scholar in this field my self but the author really knows his stuff (although there are some mistakes in dates. He is entetaining too. You will enjoy this book.

Review: I WAS NOT TO IMPRESSED WITH THE PHOTOGRAPHY BUT I FOUND THIS BOOK VERY READABLE AND IT WAS IMMENSLY USEFUL DURING MY LAST TRIP. THE AUTHOR REALLY KNOWS WHAT HE IS TAKING ABOUT, ALTHOUGH HE SOMETIMES MAKES SOME LITTLE MISTAKES. BUT I WOULD PREFER THIS BOOK TO THE DULL BLUE GUIDE.

IN SPITE OF THIS I WOULD PREFER THIS BOOK TO THE THOROUGHLY WRITTEN BUT VERY DULL BLUE GUIDES.

Review: Or this would have four stars. The pictures are good and the information is better in this thin and concise yet valuable volume. However, the published seriously overcharged for this book - it would be more appropriate to pay about ten dollars less.
