Summary: A Must have for all couples who are off to Disney
Review: As a former Travel Agent, I have been picky about tour books for Walt Disney World. I too have completed the College of Disney Knowledge. The first two years this book was out, under the title "Walt Disney World for Couples (with and without kids), this was the only purchased Disney reference book on my desk. I kept it right next to all my Disney information sent to me by Disney itself. I even ordered a copy for my staff's use.

I used the book exclusively in planning my honeymoon in 1998 and have not stopped using it. Every year, I purchase the latest edition and start highlighting the new information.

Rick and Gayle are true pro's on Disney and offer a perspective most tour books don't( I believe they even moved to Florida to be closer to Disney World for the sake of writing a more detailed book and revisions). They cover information in such a detailed way without the reader suffering from overload. It is an easy book to use once in the parks for reference too. They assign a heart system to attractions, resorts, restaurants, etc. detailing the romance factor of that item. They even suggest romantic thing to do if you have your kids with you. They never lose site of the fact that Walt Disney World is a great place for romance and even help you with a packing list (of items to bring from home) to enhance the romance in you resort room.

The book covers destination basics such as when to go, how to get there, what to pack, and weather. They also give what I feel is the best and most honest resort reviews available in any tour book for Walt Disney World. In past editions, they include a resort map and complete and fair description of the different rooms and suites available at each resort. Although they have not stayed in all the suites available, they have been allowed into them for the purpose of the review. In addition, they cover the other non-park activities available (water parks, Pleasure Island, Downtown Disney, golf and other recreation).

Even though I feel that I know pretty well from 10yrs as an agent and traveling to Disney 4 times in the past 5yrs, I will never stop using this book. It is the best I have found to date!

Summary: Great book for pre-trip planning
Review: Several years ago I worked for a travel agency and had the opportunity to complete the "College of Disney Knowledge", Disney's distance training program for agents who want to specialize in WDW. I have also had the opportunity to go to WDW many times, both alone with my husband, and with some other family members and their children. I can honestly say that you should never go to Disney World without pre-planning, and that it is important to understand that there must be different approaches to trips as a family, or as a couple.

My overall observation about this book is that the authors really know their stuff. Gayle and Rick Perlmutter clearly are writing from experience, and they love this place. They take a unique approach to WDW with the obvious goal of helping couples to discover what they might best enjoy about this amazing place. Their first person observations are concise, and the book is an easy, fun, and valuable read. In spite of my formal training and personal experience traveling to Disney, they taught me things I did not know, and gave me a new way of looking at the parks, resorts, restaurants, and activities. My husband and I leave next week for our next Disney trip alone together and will take along some extra excitement due to the new WDW discoveries we have made thanks to the Perlmutters.

Summary: Finding romance at WDW
Review: This book was amazing! My fiance and I are planning a honeymoon to Walt Disney World and have found this book indispensable. I liked the candid and fun writing style as well as their opinions of activities not to miss. A must for couples with all levels of WDW experience.

Summary: Excellent Information for Couples
Review: This is the first Walt Disney World travel book I purchased to research our upcoming trip and I honestly think I could have stopped with this one. It doesn't have all of the bells and whistles of fill-in-the-blank pages and pockets to store things but what is does have is information and lots of it. The book is extremely thorough from beginning to end and covers just about every aspect of planning a romantic Disney World vacation for a couple or a family with children. The information is covered concisely in an easy to read format that makes the reader want to skim through again and again to reference their favorite parts. I have yet to experience the Disney World that the Perlmutters describe in this wonderful guide but I can honestly say that I simply can't wait to do so because of the wonderful way they have described every last detail. In the language of the book, I give the Walt Disney World for Couples, 5th Edition 5 stars for romance!!
