Rating: Summary: The best Rome map... Review: I am writing a novel set in Rome and needed to check a lot of details about various parts of the Eternal City. I bought many maps and downloaded even more from the Web. This Insight map is the best of the lot. While this map is limited to Rome proper, it has a zoom-out inset that covers from Lago di Bracciano to Anzio. The full-page map (1:12,500) doesn't, for example, cover Rome's surrounding areas (such as the Autostrata between Fuimicino Airport and Rome, which I needed), but the large inset on its back does.) There are hundreds of call-outs for locations on the main map of Points of Interest, Public Buildings, and Streets. The large inset (1:281,000) has call outs of 90 or so Points of Interest, 100-plus Places, and about twenty-five each Districts and Streets. The map has a smaller zoom-in inset (1:7,900) detailing The Vatican. I have had a chance to test the map's currency and accuracy in several areas and it has passed in every case. It is a well executed map with many features. [One of the best features is its form: This was my first Fleximap (the map has a cleverly applied super-flexible lamination) and now it's my favorite. You can collapse (fold) it any you wish. If you try a Fleximap and like it as much as I do, you will forever find other maps lacking. Insight has quite a few Fleximaps. I have most of them and recommend this map packaging.]
