Review: Amuzingly hilarious as a frequent traveler I found this book to contain insights that most non-beaten path travellers can truly relate to. A must read for anyone who prides themselves on knowing the unknown about quite a few very cool locales in the Los Angeles and San Fernando Valley areas.

Review: I didn't find this funny. I thought it was superficial, sloppy and dumb. The number of places reviewed seems very slight, and their descriptions are overly long, as if they were trying to pad the book.

Summary: An interesting and inventive look at LaLa Land
Review: I've lived in the Los Angeles area for nearly twenty years and don't know how I've kept my head held high at cocktail parties without knowing at least half of the fascinating places stuffed inside this unusually terrific guidebook. I now know where the Brady Bunch house is. I now know where Jim Morrison resided. I also know some pretty great things to do on a week-end. Some of it is just fun reading, while I would actually visit many of the places featured. These writers have a terrific sense of humor as well as seem to have their fingers on the pulse of an interesting Los Angeles. Good job!

Review: Man, this was a find! This book is as funny as it gets. It isn't a standard tourist guide by any means. There are submissions in this book that would rival the Onion in comedy...and the brilliant thing? They still manage to get all the historic significances and interesting facts about the places they are writing up in the text. Where else can you read about the Cajun Queen in Charlotte, NC in an LA tour guide!? It sure beats the hell out of standard tour guides.

Review: This book is worth reading if you are looking for something different on your travels in Los Angeles. Read between the lines. There are hidden treasures for activity ideas, while other ideas are just for a good laugh. Even if you aren't going to make it out and about on the books recommendations, it is still a humors read. Ask yourself "Am I jocular" and/or "Am I adventurous" before taking the wild ride... that is... for the resident tourists.
