Rating: 5 stars
Summary: The Library Journal, October 2004
Review: Book Briefs section: The series abounds with unique imagery and some surprising choices. The bottom line is that [the state books] will likely be as popular [as America 24/7], if not more so. Large public libraries should order the entire set.

Rating: 5 stars
Summary: From the Grand Forks Herald
Review: Prairie pictorial

'North Dakota 24/7' offers readers a glimpse of life on the Prairie.

The sun glints off the smooth edges of an F-16 fighter plane, farmland and roads neatly mapped below, Devils Lake off to one side.

The stunning image of a refueling mission from Grand Forks Air Force Base is captured in a photo by Herald photographer John Stennes, one of many area images included in "North Dakota 24/7," 140 pages of full-color photos shot during a single week last year in communion with similar efforts in every other U.S. state.

Edited by Rick Smolan and David Elliot Cohen, authors of The New York Times best sellers "America 24/7" and "A Day in the Life of America," the books give professional and amateur photographers a chance to tell each state's story.

More than 150 photographers participated in the making of "North Dakota 24/7," capturing local scenes and local life. Smiling neighbors and families, working hard or at play, gleam from each page.

The books, released in late September, are available in local and online bookstores. For a unique twist, you can send in your own photo for a customized cover.
