Rating: Summary: Timely, Cost-Saving Resource for New Sights! Review: Although I grew up in southern California, I now live in Boston. That means that I'm likely to be a little behind the times in terms of what's going on in LA. Realizing that, I decided to see if this edition of Fodor would help me during my recent trip to LA.
Having read the book, I realized that there are so many new attractions in LA that I could fill my spare time during the visit with trips solely to see things I had never seen before. So rather than make my 527th trip to Disneyland, I went elsewhere. I'm glad I did.
In fact, there are so many new attractions that I could have filled about ten trips with ideas from this guide. I found the detailed information about the hours, costs and parking specials helped me to select locations that not only appealed to me . . . they also saved me a lot of money. I estimate that the book saved me more than three times its price. If I had been in LA longer, the cost savings would have been higher.
I also checked out the descriptions of places I know well, and found those entries to be excellent as well.
When I arrived, everything was as described. That's unusual in my experience with guide books.
If you are going with a friend or your family, you will benefit even more than I did.
Have a great visit!
