Summary: A truely inspirational story.
Review: I just finished reading this book and I must say that I greatly admire Miss Curry & Miss Mercer for their faith in God. The book is easy to read and understand and gives a very good description of their lives in Afganistan during the months they were there.
The first part of the book describes their daily lives before they were captured by the Taliban, the people they knew, the type of work they did, etc. I opened the book expecting to be bored, but to my suprise I was very inspired by this gripping story. Highly recommended!!! Five Stars * * * * *

Summary: All Hoax
Review: The two women were never prisoned by the talliban, that is true. But they were not aid workers like they told you. It is a propaganda from the U.S. They were spies for President Bush to oversee the the destruction of the talliban. But when they were captured, the President want them out and sent soldiers to do his job just for the cause of worthless freedom in America.

Summary: Prisoners of Hope
Review: I bought this book after seeing the pictures of Afganistan, thinking it would be interesting to read. I found it skipped around alot, didnt go into details about much. I have lost interest in it and dont know if I will even finish reading it.

Summary: Another Bomb For Afghanistan
Review: The media has done it again: Blown something so out of proportion that somehow the world thinks its deserves a book. Well, the whole book is just one big self-serving pat on the back by a couple of kids who got in over their heads in a foreign country where they had no place being. Where's the "inspirational" story? They weren't rescued, and they shouldn't have been pushing their ideas on others in the first place. Not only that, but it's boring. Don't waste your money. I didn't -- I borrowed the book and am glad I didn't buy it.

Summary: Heather and Dayna give me hope for the future
Review: These are some impressive young women, motivated by a strong Christian faith. I think young people should read this book so that they can gain hope that they can make a difference in the world, and older people should also read so that they get hope that the future is in good hands.

Summary: Compelling & Convicting
Review: This is a moving story - thank you Dayna & Heather.
Ultimately this is not about Afghanistan, 9/11 or events in history but about two young individuals hearing God's voice and heading the words, "Go!" A very compelling story that will lead you to ponder how you would respond to the same. Pardon the pun, but it is indeed a captivating read.

Summary: You go, girls!
Review: What a great book this was--I didn't think women like this existed in today's world! I heard Dayna & Heather speak on Focus on the Family and I was so moved by their personal stories. Their experience in Afghanistan makes up most of this book, but I want to point out to everyone that they already survived a great deal of upheaval in their lives before they even became missionaries. This caused them to do a lot of soul-searching to find their faith. I think those tough experiences helped give them the strength they needed for surviving their imprisonment by the Taliban.

Summary: An amazing story of faith
Review: Dayna and Heather are two incredible women and I was so moved by following their story in the news last year that I eagerly bought and read this book in just a few days (it usually takes me weeks!). I was impressed with the way their different (sometimes really different) personalities came across in the way they told their stories. The book alternates between one of them telling their story and then the other one picks up. But even though they are different, it is beautiful how they share an amazing devotion to their Christian faith. They are quite forthright about being Christians, which I find refreshing since it often seems like some people just want you to keep it to yourself. This was fun to read and I hope they get to go back to Afghanistan some day like they say they do.

Summary: What a book!
Review: I can't say enough about these two women--They are a tremendous examples of people who are willing to stand up for what they believe. And I found it beautiful the way they talked about the people in Afghanistand and how much they grew to love them. When people worry about the convictions of the younger generations I think they should just be reminded of what Ms. Curry and Ms. Mercer put on the line, giving of themselves, trying to spread God's love by serving the poor and (yes) at times sharing about the faith that motivated to go to Afghanistan in the first place.

Rating: 1 stars
Summary: They should be ashamed of themselves
Review: These two should stay home, get jobs and do something worthwhile. Their proseletizing was actually frightening and if they think they are preaching their religion to people who want to hear it, I think they are delusional. If their religeous zeal made it OK for them ethically to go there under false pretenses, then spare me their ideology. The Afghani people who became involved with them risked there lives for a little food - these young women certainly never learned how to write a book or tell an interesting story. Not worth the paper it is printed on.
