Rating: Summary: Very useful for value priced meals Review: Bought the book after hearing it reviewed on a las vegas radio station. Sections are organized by price, type of meal, breakfast, lunch, dinner etc. Great prices and up to date info. Lists the places you would want to pick when its your turn to buy! The places listed are not flea pits either. Even some "Strip" hotels have bargains. This book will pay for itself after 1 or 2 uses. Great for locals.
Rating: Summary: This book helped me save 100's on vacation! Review: Bought the book after seeing a post from the author in a Las Vegas newsgroup. I spent a 3-day weekend in August with my family in Vegas. The [money] I paid for this book helped me to save... [money] on food for my family of 5. Great idea and looking forward to the 2003 Edition for my trip next year!

Rating: Summary: OK, But Needs More Details Review: I guess I expected more than basically just a book of lists. Some better details, reviews, options, etc. would have made this a better buy in my mind. For example, the buffet listings just say dinner buffet, lunch buffet, etc. I would have liked to have seen examples of what types of items to expect or at least the typical number of items. A buffet with 10 choices is a lot different from one with 35 choices. Also, I wonder how much of the book will be outdated within six months. Still it is kind of fun to read about some of the great dining deals and it is small and easy to take with you on your trip.
Rating: Summary: Nice Concept, but when you concentrate on prices............ Review: I like the concept of the book, organizing a guide on cheap eats in Vegas; but when a book like this is relying so heavily on specials and prices, it will date quickly - as "777 Cheap Eats" is already beginning to prove. The concept would work better as a website, where Miss Tucker could update the material in a timely manner.
Rating: Summary: "Cheap Eats" not very helpful Review: I've been to Las Vegas many times for business and pleasure. I did not find this book very helpful. While the concept for a 1 to 777 ranking of restaurant values is a good idea, this book has no information about the restaurants or their food. With ranking by price in various categories, you could use it as a cross-reference to the Unofficial Guide or Frommers. But who has the time? Just use one of those 2 books first -- both are good. This book would be useful to a Las Vegas resident, but is of limited value for a visitor. Prices have really gone up this year, so the information is out-of-date by as much as 50 percent.
Rating: Summary: Useful, informative, and nicely organized! Good price too! Review: My daughter bought a copy of this book from the author's mom, who lives here locally. I have since bought a copy of my own and we've been using it together to check out all the great deals!

Rating: Summary: Cool! Vegas is cheap again... Review: One of my friends has a copy of this book, and after reading the back cover and thumbing through the pages, I ordered one too. I have lived in Las Vegas for around 5 years, and never thought Vegas food was particularly cheap. Since using this book I think I've rediscovered the good food deals that Vegas used to be famous for. I took my mum out for a chicken caesar salad lunch for $2.99 (her) new york steak and eggs $3.25 (me). I won't be going back to Marie Calendar's while I'm in Vegas! And I found pie and ice cream for $1.35 The book located a good spot for my first champagne brunch since I moved here for just $8.00 although the book lists one as cheap as $4.49. Five of us went, and we had a blast! So far I have only tried four or five of the deals listed, but I'm looking forward to a 20 ounce porterhouse steak at one of the "locals" casinos for $7.95, with all the trimmings, apparently. The prices are accurate, and there is a phone number listed for every restaurant so you know the hours to go for the specials and deals. If you live here, you can find a lot of bargains. If you're just visiting, this book will probably save you wasting a bunch of cash at the better known restaurants.
