Summary: Spot on and hilarious!
Review: This book leans to the useless end of the language guide spectrum, however it provides an accurate and hilarious comment on Italian culture. If you are even the slightest bit familiar with Italy, this book will make your gut ache from laughter. Would be a good buy at twice the price.

Summary: A Hilarious Book!
Review: This is a very funny book and well worth $5 (though I see Amazon has it for three something). If the language isn't perfect (I don't know - I'm learning myself), you will enjoy laughing all the same! The only reason that this book got 4 stars and not 5 is because it is so small it's hardly a book at all. For 5 bucks who cares!

Summary: Funny and Insightful
Review: This laugh-out-loud booklet opens wide a window on modern Italian culture. Step on in and take a gander. Never mind that you will never remember the right phrase at the right time during your visit to Italy; at least you will be traveling with the right attitude.

Harold Tomb writes with Dave Barry-esque wit. If you have a sense of humor and even a passing interest in Italy, then "Wicked Italian" is for you.

Summary: Amusing, yet not terribly useful
Review: This tiny little phrasebook is a funny read, but its practical applications are, um, limited, unless you really want to say things like "I'd like some pasta of the slut." For folks who've been to Italy, I'd imagine it's even more amusing than it is for us who haven't been over the pond.

There are a few useful items within, such as the names of important medicines and whatnot, but overall, this is just a book for fun. If you're really looking to pick up A Real Phrasebook, be sure to grab something else besides this one, and perhaps keep this one in your pocket (it's *really* tiny!) for when you feel like freaking out your cab driver or some such.

Summary: Va bene!
Review: Well worth the money! I was able to convince a native Italian to go out with me by using a couple of the humorous and somewhat suggestive phrases offered in this book. I was later informed by this same person that there are some grammatical errors and a few phrases make no sense at all.
