Rating: 4 stars
Summary: Needs more on surrounding areas
Review: I used DK Eyewitness Travel Guides for my whole vacation to Italy, and they were essentially my Bible. There is so much information in them that you would only be able to know if you were a local, and the extra stuff about when museums are open, whether places charge admission, if you can take pictures, etc. are extremely useful (as is the highly reliable restaurant guide in the back). I don't regret buying this book - I only wish it had had more detail about the surrounding areas of Naples. Nice as Naples is, my boyfriend and I found that we spent most of our time on the nearby islands, along the coast, and in Pompeii. The book does have about a page on each of those sites in the back, but they were not nearly as complete as the regional Naples sections. If you plan to go to Naples, I'd buy this book, but also pick up a more detailed guide to Capri, Ishchia, Procida, etc...because you shouldn't miss those places when you go!
